Every little contribution means so much to me and I would never recommend a product that I wouldn't use myself. Thanks for watching and REMEMBER: keep being awesome, keep smiling and keep making beautiful things!
Take your time! We are just glad you are back in business, and I think we all knew it would take time. You are a one woman team. Good things take time! 💚
Thank you so much! :)
@@JerikaZimmerman you are welcome!
I have two four-month babies and a toddler, and my partner is working long hours, finishing up our house so that we can move into it in a week. When I have a quiet moment during the day, I’ve been watching your vlogmas to relax. Thank you for your videos.
I was so bad at both Craftybase and Inventora when I first got them. I'd have a pile of TH-cam formulas to write ingredients off for and then all my supplies invoices. I'm being good and doing it as I get them now and it's a lot better. I set aside some time each morning to do my accounts and Inventora, answer patrons etc. Don't be too hard on yourself though, you're finding a new working flow with your new home and workspace, and you've only just reopened. You'll find your rhythm again :)
Joanna is so kind and generous in sharing her knowledge. I love her and her studio is absolutely incredible.
Couldn't agree more!
She is really awesome
Inventora is just great! I keep track of everything there too. I just wish it would alarm when inventory gets below a certain level: just an alert message would be good. Popping up. I have a large inventory of raw materials and having to scroll down to see what’s in the red is cumbersome
At the beginning you.were talking about writing up what you need... try a white board or something like that then you can take a photo of what you need to your computer and place your order.... really helps me...x
Yup! An awesome suggestion!
I have been using stainless steel pots for lotions and soaps for years, its perfectly fine 🙂
Just thought Id mention that you might consider looking into a water distiller. You could make your own and reuse your current gallon jugs. Dont know much about them but I plan on doing my research because I've had a hard time finding distilled water.
Love watching you create your products and appreciate that you provide so much information about your products. You are an amazing woman, reopening your business and Vloging everyday. Thank you for letting us watch!
Thank you for being here! I am also looking at water distillers but I’m still on the fence!
I watch The Soap Gal, too. She seems to just know without having to think about HOW to do stuff. So cool.
Hi Jerika,
I've been watching you for years now! So glad you are in the United States. Keep up the great work.😊
Aw thank you!!! I’m also glad I’m here now ❤
Because you asked FYI - Stainless steel can leach nickel into foods, especially high acid foods like tomatoes. It does leach some nickel into most foods. I know because I have an extremely severe allergy to nickel - cookware can be a menace, some other types of aluminum cookware are far worse for it. I usually do not have a problem with boiling water in it once in a while, but I prefer to use ceramic cookware or coated cookware.
I know there is a lot of information out there that says stainless steel does not react to food, BUT to get rid of onion smell on your hands just rub them on a stainless steel pot and see what happens. Obviously, it reacts. So I personally have found that a lot depends on the ingredients going into the pot to determine the end product safety. I doubt that I would even get a rash from boiled water.
This is good to know!
I agree-Joanna has an awesome story! I’m thrilled for her on how Whole Foods has changed her world!
Me too!! She deserves all the success ❤
Oooh!! So I’ve been watching your TH-cam channel for about a year and have been wanting to try your products! Now that you are in the states and the business is back open I made my first order and it came in today!! I posted my review to 2 of 3 products so far but oh my gosh, the body cream you make is ABSOLUTELY amazing 🥹❤️ I LOVE body lotions and creams and am so particular about what I like. This may honestly be one of my favorite body creams, ever. Thank you, so much
Right?! It's one my best best best products and im soooo happy you love it!
@@JerikaZimmerman Seriously! I really do ❤️ It’s amazing! I really liked the soap, and then I tried the scrub and I liked it even more! I love how creamy and nourishing it is while still having a great amount of exfoliation. The body cream after though. It is my absolute favorite product so far!
@@JerikaZimmerman By chance, if you the Body Cream is one of your favorite products. What are your absolute favorites in general? I saw that you were going be releasing more lip balms soon and I was curious to try that, too!
I absolutely LOVE these vlogs! Joanna is definitely a ray of sunshine. So are you!! I’ve learned so much from you. I love your Patreon.
I’m so glad I was able to order some bath-bombs before they sold out. I love your bath-bombs.
Yay Vlogmas - I’m loving it!
Yay! Thank you!
Awesome job!! Love watching your videos and seeing you rock your small business!❤️
Yes, I just came across her channel a few months ago. She is so inspiring!
She’s amazing!
Hi Jerika, I'm new to your channel and I love your products, I order the orange patchouli hemp bar soap, the one you are advertising in this video, I would love to order a few more bars of soap of this particular scent.
I agree about having to enter info into inventory programs or Google sheets. TEDIOUS...Soooo tedious....but I agree with other commentors who say to do it as you get the product. Makes the most sense. With the new rules coming with MOCRA next year, it's completely necessary.
I have been watching your videos for some time now and the video are very knowledgeable and inspiring i just want to say thank you for keeping me going so hard with my business ❤❤❤
You are very welcome!!!
“Busy hands are the Happiest Hands”……and You are Busy Busy…….please remember self-care.is a must…..great news on the Bath Bombs……Yes Turkey Soup For Dinner…….
It was so good!
I couldn’t survive without Soapers Choice. They hands down have the best price on Coco Betaine (at least that I’ve found) glycerin too
I wouldn't have thought of making lotion in the crockpot.
It works really well!!
Have always loves your videos and so happy your launch went so well even with the hiccup’s.
Thanks so much! Me too!!
I make a lot of products in bulk for other businesses almost all of my work is done in sanitized large stainless steel pots. It’s the only way I’d ever be able to make it all. Works great, just heavy 😂
Love!!! I’m glad you did this! You inspire me!!!
Thank you so much!!
DigiBoil works well for heating water, but I didn’t want to spend that much so I got an electric percolator for heating water. It heats enough for 3 or 4 batches of lotion at a time.
Thank you for the suggestion! I’ll look into that!
Beautiful work
It’s a ton of work to get allllllll that into inventora
Omg right!?!!! I’m trying… I’m trying 😅
Yes I made 20lbs of body butter in a big stainless steel pot. It's perfectly fine. That video will post Dec. 20th.
Your truly are an inspiration to me. ❤❤❤
Aw thank you!!! ❤
Love Joanna the soap gal! Rock star in the community
She’s an icon, a legend ❤
Hi, when do you check the ph levels? Before or after adding the fragrance?
Stainless steel pot is the way to go. I'm able to make larger batches than a crock pot holds.
Thank you! This is good to know!
Keep doing ❤
Keep making❤❤
Keep yourself proud!! ❤❤❤ With love priya
Aw thank you!!
I have been on your patreon for years but I can't seem to access it now. The patreon site was no help at all. They directed me to you. I am getting the emails as a patreon but cannot get any content. Hope you can help.
Enjoying vlogmas! Will this recipe be in your patreon ?
Yes it will!
@@JerikaZimmermanWahoo!
Currious which fragrance supplier in the US you seem to go to more so far? I have found over time I lean more towards Midwest fragrance company
I've been using stainless steel pot for many years for lotions etc. My crock pot started chipping so not good for bath and body products. Now it only gets used as a table weight😅
Good to know! I think I’ll try it next!
I use soap maker 3. You need a box cutter it is safer. i hope to get were you are in the next couple of years. Still trying to make a website.
I’ve heard good things!
Can you use this for the face as well, or is it just for the body
Depends on your skin sensitivity. I didnt formulate for the face (ph isn’t tested) and it’s a little heavy in my opinion. My Cale (my husband) uses it as his face cream and loves it.
I would think low and slow is going to retain all the skin loving properties. It’s why you don’t want to microwave that stuff
💯!
Not me panicking bcz your address is very clear in the video 😅 hopefully you dont mind it.
As a business that manufactures out of her home, it’ll be out there regardless 🤷🏻♀️
The Soap Gal, Joanna is super nice. I ran into her at Arizona Soap Supply & she was very approachable. We chatted soaping stuff of course & she offered info....not a gate keeper, just really nice
I'd love to meet her someday - she seems so wonderful!
@@JerikaZimmerman If you ever get the chance to meet her in AZ let me know. I would love to meet YOU!
She is the most incredible person and always willing to help other without asking for anything. She and her husband saved me years ago for a major scam. They even invited me to visit them since I am her in AZ.
Why not stick to the georgian bay scent and just rename the soap? It was 1 of your best sellers.
The fragrance oil was from a Canadian supplier and needed a USA version, which wouldve been different. I'm moving forward with this new Pacific North West branding and I think I'll be okay :)
Make sure you take some time to yourself. Getting overwhelmed or over tired isn't good for anyone. You looked very tired at the end of the video. We all like watching you, but time to yourself is very important too!
Aw thank you! This is such good advice!
question about piping lotions. How many bags do you go through, or do you refill the piping bags? I made whipped body butter and bought throw away piping bags and it was a huge mess and a lot of body butter was wasted. thanks
I went through a bag per scent, so 4 bags. I used a scraper to scrape every bit I could get. There was very minimal waste of lotion. I don’t use a tip so no product gets trapped there.
Also when you do your cream in the crockpot do you warm anything before you add it in?
I warm the water phase in that crock pot and I’m heating the oil phase separately. I use the crock pot as a big warmer for my water phase, basically.
Okay thank you!
Do you sale wholesale?
I’m not ready yet, but will once I get my own site stocked regularly lol
Can you melt your oil phase in the crockpot?
Yes, you probably can!
❤
❤❤❤
Miss jerika, wanted to let ya know you may want to edit this video pretty fast cause you showed your address on one of those boxes ..and there is a lot of crazy people out in this world. Just trying to look out for ya girl! Also enjoyed the video.
Thank you!! ❤
