at the start you can see that the mig-29 has doors closed over the intakes of the engines. this is because Russian aircraft are designed to be able to operate from runways that have alot of FOD or debris. Russia did this with the thought of in war there could easily be debris on a runway simply by a bomb missing the runway and putting dirt all over the runway that would make the runway become out of service to any nato aircraft even though the runway didn't actually take a hit. which gives me the thought that you could put nato runways out of commission just by dropping things like a bunch of chaff on them. just a thought idk if its true in the real world.
