I read this book in high school (not assigned reading), which would likely have been not long after it was first published, seeing that my high school had their 50th class reunion this year. Yikes, I’m old! 😬 I do remember thoroughly enjoying it, but you now have me wanting to go back and re-read it. The 1987 movie based on this book was one of my all-time favorites, with Anne Bancroft and Anthony Hopkins.
Hi Tahlia, I enjoyed 84, but was so sad at the end. I don't want to mention the why in the comment in case someone hasn't read it and wants to. But I really enjoyed the friendships that were created in the letters they shared. =)
