Bonjour. Ok a lot of formalities to complete, but as a reminder, we (France and the European Union) are not responsible for the UK leaving the European Family... Bienvenue dans la Belle France. 🙂
@@leonandsarah My answer was general in relation to certain comments that one can read or innuendos to call this truth, it's not France which is responsible for all these formalities that you had to complete. But it was not addressed particularly to you otherwise I would have quoted you. ;-)
After, as I said to another English couple who came to settle and live in France, your luck is to have young children. Because they will integrate much faster than you ^^, among other things to learn the French language, if you don't speak it and don't understand it fluently, sorry I don't know that, I discovered your channel with this video which appeared on my TH-cam journal. It are your children who will make you progress faster in this integration to among other things learn the French language, an essential basic element to integrate. If at least you force yourself to speak French at home between you as much as possible as soon as you handle it a little.
I spent 11 years in France from the age of 9 to 20 so I speak French fluently. It is true about kids integrating much faster but I’ve always believed that if adults were put in the same environment (speaking French 8+ hours everyday) they too would pick up the language quickly 🇫🇷🇫🇷
@@leonandsarah Ok very good thing, the basis is there to start this integration and your new life perfectly! So you normally plan to apply for French (and so "found again" European too) nationality if you don't have it? There too it will be an important and emotional passage for you no doubt which will really mark the beginning of your new life, we will want to see a video on that! And so in the end if you become compatriots, you should learn to celebrate also July 14, Republic Day, and especially support also the French teams and Les Bleus, like for example in Rugby and Football. 😁 At least for your generation it will be mixed feelings when there is France-England. But in fact you will double your chances of winning. 😆
We’re renting a house in the town of Villefranche du Périgord while we look for a house to buy. We’ve sold our house and will be moving out on 4th Nov, but we’re not looking to work so our situation is slightly different. Visa interview in Manchester next Tuesday! We’re bringing our three dogs to France too.
We know Villefranche! Lovely village 😍 I really hope the visa interview was a success, I’m sure you’ll have no problems with your dogs either. Getting our cats here was one of the more straightforward parts of the process for us 🤪 Keep us updated on your progress!
@@claudusb6731 we were in Cornwall so Folkstone (where the tunnel begins) was 7 hours away. Also where we live in France is closer to Roscoff by around 3 hours because from Roscoff to the Lot et Garonne you don’t have to drive through Paris.
Well done. See you next year!!!👍
Brilliant video, loved the cabin window comment 😂
You’re doing amazing, keep chipping away at all the hurdles 🥰

OMG… your experience at customs has scared me a bit - we’re due to move there at the beginning of November 😳 So glad I found your channel though.
Forewarned is forearmed ! Just make sure you have the right paperwork and you’ll be fine. Whereabouts are you moving to? So exciting 😆
