@@koboldqueen3055 There's no "instant speed" in hearthstone. The closest thing is Secrets, which basically are played in advance and are triggered when an opponent does a specific thing.
@@koboldqueen3055 The second player starts the game with a Treasure and an extra card in hand, which goes some way to compensating for this. But the advantage is that the strict IGOUGO turn system is better for online play - you don't need to wait after every single action to check if the opponent responds - you can just queue up an entire turn's worth of actions then let the opponent queue up their entire turn's worth of actions.
@@koboldqueen3055 That would be true, but in HS, the second-turn player gets an additional opening card and a free "coin" card that adds one mana for that turn. Even then, the interaction in that game is very mediocre. For comparison, Assassinate, the game's unconditional removal spell, costs 5 whole mana.
Important note on Alchemy 3feri: its static ability is not literally the same as the printed one - it's the Grand Abolisher text, which accomplishes the same thing as the original on the turn of 3feri's controller, but at least allows the opponent to do instant stuff during their own turn.
Yeah one of the most backbreaking parts of og T3feri was that not only did it make its controller immune to countermagic on their own turn, it also made their countermagic on the opponent's turn immune to getting countered. Control mirrors were just a contest to see who could resolve their T3feri first without it getting Mystical Disputed because the first player to get him automatically won every counter war. Te4i at least gives the player on the receiving end an opportunity to use their countermagic to protect their own plays on their own turn.
the narcomoeba/creeping chill/prized amalgam combo is seeing play in timeless right now! they just use insane, regular mill cards like glimpse the unknowable
The Alchemy version of Teferi static ability is different. It says opponents cannnot cast spells during your turn. That is weaker than all spells at socrery speed. Combat tricks even on your turn do NOT work with Teferi out, but do work with the Alchemy version.
Pioneer is a format I've really been getting into watching recently, it's such a strange format because it's midrange but also we just combo kill you sometimes? It's great
And the nerfed version doesn't block free spells or instants on your turns. Truth being told, with so many channel-like abilities this days on Pioneer, you can kill Teferi on instant speed without playing spells.
*Highly* disagree that Fable of the Mirror Breaker is “around the same power level as Teferi”; powerful card, but imo not even close. Fable is a very good midrange card that smooths out your own curve and doesn’t block your opponents from doing anything; Teferi, meanwhile, insta-wins some match-ups unless you draw/have an answer right away, and can lock your opponent out of playing spells with instant-speed Thoughtseize effects stripping them out of your hand right after your draw step.
Blazing shoal probably is still not worth unbanning for the same reason tibalt's trickery wouldn't be, the random turn 2 kills would just be unfun to play against
"...one of the cruelest fates imaginable: having to play Hearthstone" I am ROLLING
Ive never played hearthstone do it not have interaction cards?

@@AFreakingLlama that seems lame and like it gives a huge advantage to first turns.

Lots of those cards are green I blue... Weird coincidence
Wizards has a weird thing with making some of the most broke and busted cards either Blue/Black or Blue/Green, or just Blue or Green.
Amazing!!!!
