You are so good at giving detailed instructions on how to use the controls on a reel to reel. I have really learned quite a lot of information by looking at your TH-cam Videos. Another great video My Brother 😀
Thank you sir! Great overview of this unit. I have the A-4300, but everything you described looked roughly the same. I have several tapes my Dad recorded and had around the house, but his old Philips unit doesn't work anymore. I found one of these in working order, and I'm looking to set up with a receiver and give it a shot. I have left it sitting for a few years though, so hopefully it is fully operational (it was serviced right before I got it, and was working just fine in the demo). Thank you for sharing your expertise. May hit you up for some more info soon! Lucky to come across your channel.
Hi big matt My teac 4300sx reel to reel, 1) trident got busted on the supply sidè (turntable?) ? Is can that be ŕepired without replacing the motor? Would i need a part #? ? 2) the tension on the tape, the turntable motors - seems excessive. The machine sat boxed up for around 10 + yrs while kids grew up (Grandkid got the trident. Dangit) . Any instructions on " how to" and "with what" on lubrication would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your insight and for sharing God bless-peace
Just got my TEAC A 4300SX back from electronic shop. He said everything is working fine. I'm not able to get this unit to record. Any recommendations or tips to help me start my recording ???
I just bought the same model but the VU meters lights are out. What type of lamp does it require. All I know is that they are located in the Vu meters casing, so no cylindrical lamp fuse as in other teac models.
@@5thcomm How do I get access to the inside of these vu meters ? there is 4 wires soldered to the back and I can see 2 nuts holding vu meters. Since both are burned out. Could it be a fuse somewhere ? I don't see how I can get there and unsolder these wires and free the vu meter case . It looks so simple on other teac models. You can do it from the front. I am really scared of messing up. Now if I bring it to a shop they are going to skin me for 2 bulbs, aren't they. It must take a few hours to fix.
Do i just pull off hard or do i unscrew that middle screw in the middle on the front ? I thought it was a screw to adjust the needle of vu meter. Thanks in advance for your answer
Think of it as a cassette deck. It plugs into your amp/receiver. Connect your equalizer and speakers to your amp/receiver and play your tapes through them.

I’m just now learning about these reel to reels, if I purchase one of these units can I purchase vintage music to play or are the reels different?
Yes, you canbpurchase music, or simply record your own choices of music from virtually any source at no cost.
Are there different tape widths
@@stevemayner9662 Yes, the most common consumer size is 1/4 inch

They use a 6V axial lamp

@@stephanebourbonnais3013 The VU meter covers pull off from the front. Not difficult, then de solder the old ones and solder the new lamps in
