Great interview, and great to hear from neeb again. Im pulling for Classic to really become a great force again.
Always good to hear from Neeb! Glad to hear he's doing well. He seems far more chatty and expressive than he used to be which is cool to see.
Hey Crank. I remember being subscribed to you in the past. Is this another one of your channels? I am subscribing to it anyway. Your English is fantastic and your line of questioning is really fluid brother. I wish Neeb plays competitive SC2 onace more. More power to you - from one of your fans in the Philippines.
So if protoss has a less than 1% chance to win a big tournament like Neeb said, then when you look at big tournament results zerg has around a 55-70% chance to win and terran has around a 29-44% chance to win. That means that zerg is at least 55 times better for big tournaments to win with than protoss. Doesn't that suggest that Sc2 is the most imbalanced game of all time by an extremely big margin? Even if Needs prediction might be wrong and the true chance for protoss to win is 5% or sth, it would suggest the same
In any other context this kind of chance difference would make people fix the problem immediately. Noone would go to a doctor who cures less than 1 out of a 100 patients (protoss) while the doctor next door cures at least 55 out of a 100 patients (zerg). The bad doctor would get replaced by a good doctor immediately (i.e. protoss would get buffed immediately). In this context however noone cares
I always see a different perspective on statically win ratio because of the player game base is quite low
This is a super narrow perspective, this issue is super nuanced when the game has only 1 patch for ladder (bo1) and tourney (bo1-bo7). By neebs own words, protos has strengths and weaknesses that play much more into benefiting the ladder and not pro play. Look at leagueof legends, some champions and entire roles and kept unplayable/awful in ladder because if they were good on ladder they would be wayyy too good in pro. Personally i would prefer a bigger balance emphasis on pro play, because i enjoy sc2 as a spectator game and not a grinding the ladder game. On the other hand as an ex league player that quit because of the horrible balance revolving around pro play (and just general awful balancing), i think anyone actively invested in grinding out the ladder and playing a lot should care about the game being balanced for the 99.99%, not the top 0.01%
At the end of the day, these tourneys dont reflect your experience when playing the game at all, and arent an excuse for you to be losing
Thanks crank!
Personally, I totally agree with his opinion. Protoss can make it out like one or two games, but not 3, 5, or more maps out of several.
Feels like protoss has a limit.
Also, lings for zergs and marines for terrans would be used everywhere, but zealots are there just because protoss doesn't have enough gas. Stalkers? They wouldn't use em if they had diff unit.
it was though at the time
It is not just the loss of the top korean protoss players. Since the game is largely figured out now the game has moved to defense wins championships. Terran and Zerg have more and better defensive tools. There is a reason Stats was so dominant for so long. He was the best at defensive play.
Come on, Protoss has so amazing defense. They can put a unit between two buildings!
does neeb have a sc2 TH-cam channel or someplace where i can find his gameplay content analysis
In order for a protoss player to win a championship title. A protoss player needs to bring more ponies on the tournament.
The problem with herO is he runs out of pony before reaching semi-finals
There is only one protoss player that could beat Serral, Clem, ByuN, etc in a best of 7 or 9...but he won't play offline. Sad
He's a maphacker
@@Dontlook36 He loses way too often for that to be true.

I do think its the balance problem tough, in big part. Players like Stats or Neeb used to win macro games at the top of the top when the balance was different. Im not saying making the carrer op again or some balance that wasnt so good, but Protoss needs something.
tbh imo toss units are so bad even if you buff all of them the pro protoss players would still lose, i dont think we will ever see a toss win again
한국어자막이 이전영상 자막이 들어간것같네요 ㅠ
This is super sad. Im a protoss player and im trying to get myself as high up the ladder as i can. But hearing one of the great ones talk about protoss like that is discouraging a little. Not too much optimism there
Toss is the best race on the ladder usually. still are as far as i know.
@@cabobs2000 right, but who wouldnt want to compete on that stage?
I remember I was a 'balance whiner' back in 2014, being high masters, low gm terran complaining about toss. got always told by the rest it's a skill issue. funny to see in retrospect people admitting toss was 0 skill back then
