I've seen two or three other builds of the same kit seems it still draws some attention and the most impressive thing I've seen done to this kit is a motorised propeller and sound. There is an electronic kit for this. Your model is a nice build. Cheers from Australia.👍🇭🇲🦘✌️
Hi Steve, what’s the old say making a purse out of a sows ear. Good effort mate. At that scale the detail should be outstanding but it’s 50 years old. So yeh I agree with you Revell should either stop selling it or rebrand it as a classic or vintage. If you were new to the hobby and this was your first build it would kill any enthusiasm for the hobby. Thanks for continuing with the build to the end, I definitely felt for you. Take care and look forward to seeing you next video.
Hiya Stevie, I can remember building this ki t in 1972 when I was fourteen, I loved it then because at the time I had a Corsair fixation due to a series in Airfix magazine on the subject albeit in 1/72 scale. It is sad that Revell still see fit to release a kit of this vintage, I was recently in hobbycraft in Bolton and they have this kit in stock!
Hi Steve OMG Ha ha ha sometimes you have to laugh but you also have to cry when it comes to most of the Revell 1/32nd scale aircraft. I have built 4 of these appalling models from Revell and the P-40 is the best of the bunch which is quite an enjoyable build because of the Undercarriage retraction method Most of these 32nd scale aircraft were 1970s releases and they were state of the art !!!!!! (Really) when they were released. My admiration to you mate but as I have one of these in my stash so I will probably feel just as you do now when I get round to start my attempt at getting a so so result from this mold Good luck mate
This kit dates back to the early 70ties when moving parts on kits were hot. Nowadays it cannot be compared to modern kits. The moulds are probably pretty worn down. I have 2 of these 1970 boxings in the stash as mojo kits because I like to upgrade them myself with lots of styrene and some aftermarket stuff. Not for the beginning modeler. 😅
Thanks for your comment, Its nice to hear that some modeller's enjoy the challenge of improving these kits, But Revell should take a leaf out of Airfix's book and name them Vintage or Classic kits :)
I have this one in my stash, however it’s one of the early kits that Revell released. The box art is different from yours. It shows the Kepford F4-U1A flying in the same pose over a Marine landing. The aircraft is in the 1945 dark sea blue over all camouflage , which empties this was set in the Okinawa invasion. It’s on the shelf and I do agree with you on the lack of detail when you compare it to the other kits that of Corsair. The oldest kit I have is the 1/48 scale of the 1964 Monogram kit and has more detail than this bird. Even the much larger Gullows wood and tissue kit has as much detail. But thanks for your video,
Id have just cut the aerials off and glued them on after. The gaps in the wing roots look like you have glued the tops of the wings on wrong. You can see the miss alignment at the trailing edges.
Not a fan of Revell kits Ste so this wasn't a massive surprise. It's fine if manufacturers want to sell old kits but at least have the decency to box them as "Classic" or "Vintage" and let the buyer know
That's a good finish regardless of its lack of details. Some weathering would've been ok but no matter. This kit is just an old model with new decals. But is still selling. If your after better there's the 1/32 Trumpeter or the very super detailed 1/32 Tamiya.👍🇭🇲🦘✌️
My worst kit ever was the Minicrap Lockheed Electra..engine nacelles are misshapen, the propellers look like they came off a Cessna 150... And the list goes on. Cheers and Thanks!✈️🎸🖖😀
This model is old and very minimal details but it does make a good model. I've built three and all unfortunately have been damaged over the years. I have four of this kit to rebuild without having to cut the flaps which requires a lot of work and to avoid trying to spruse up the cockpit and the wheel bays. I made it worse. I'm no professional modeller just amateur.👍🇭🇲🦘😿🦈✌️
It's a shame Revell didn't improve this kit with better details and a couple of drop tanks or bombs and those dreaded empty wheel bays. Overall this kit is not bad when completed with a good tricolour scheme or overall glossy sea Blue.🤫🇭🇲🦘✌️

Ahoy Stevie Superb Job Buddy On The Bent Wing bird The Old revell kit Still Shines today Just As good As the Tamiya Kit, Less Detail Parts
Hey thanks very much Frankie, You are very kind Buddy :)
Such a cool model!Nice job! Well done!
Thanks very much for your kind comment Roland :)

Hello John and thanks for your encouraging comments bud, Its good to hear from you pal, Not seen anything from you for quite a while :)
I don't do many 1/32 kits and I defo won't be wasting money on that one...A valiant effort Steve...👍
Thanks for your encouraging comments Mike :)
I do like your honest reviews👍
Thanks very much James, Its best to point out the faults of what ever your building, as most times you buy a kit and don't know whats inside :)

Revell of Germany should bring back the decals for Ira Kepford's Corsair,. number 29.
I built this kit about 3 weeks ago...I agree it is a horrible kit...the wings were a pain to sort out..but well done on your finished result.
Thanks very much for watching and commenting, it's very much appreciated mate. Also thanks for backing me up 😉
I agree a very old kit from Revell that is basic and shouldn’t be still on sale
Yes I agree, Its time they retired the tooling for this
Not a fan of Revell kits Ste so this wasn't a massive surprise. It's fine if manufacturers want to sell old kits but at least have the decency to box them as "Classic" or "Vintage" and let the buyer know
I totally agree with you on this Mark, Thanks for the comment :)
Yeah this is not a good kit. The fit of the engine is dreadful. But in the end it looks absolutely beautiful.
