    You need a drop out vent beneath any gas connection point as the gas ( if it leaks) is heavier than air and will drop out through the floor. Very important.

    Thanks for the video.
    Shutting off the gas at the tank - do LPG Shop [or anyone else] supply an electric soloniod gas valve i.e. to allow you to turn off the gas from inside the van? Save clambering under van!

      Yes they do have this switch (as far as I can remember)

    Brilliant Video - I too brought an underslung gas tank off LPG Shop, yes I live in the UK and it took 3 months to get my cylinder and kit delivered, to get mine earlier I had a different size than originally ordered, just arrived this week and now looking at Videos like yours to get info on the install.
    You have done a great job on the Video, very clear and precise, I may have ordered the wrong items as got a Filler hose length: Cut-to-length 3m polypipe with a Gas Filter as recommended, think I should have opted for the conventional pig tails.
    But we live and learn..
    All the best on your journeys I hope they are safe and plentiful.
    Regards

    Well done bro, good video! Just about to buy one, too many components...argh

      Thanks! Yep, it takes a while to figure out everything you need for the install. Best thing I found was to watch as many videos as possible to get your head around the different components you need and then write them down. All the best with the install.

      Hi Steve, As far as I can remember there was only instructions for the wiring of the filler gauge to the two core cable. I just watched all the Underslung gas tank install videos on youtube. So I'm very happy I can add to that and help you out with your install! I hope it goes well. All the best with the build. Let me know if you need any help/advice :)

    Great video, what size tank have you got?

    • @RichieRos
      @RichieRos  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I remember correctly it was a 25ltr tank

    what happens if the van gets parked on a bit of an angle after the tank has been fitted and you just want to make a brew?

    • @RichieRos
      @RichieRos  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't think that should make a difference.

    Thank you for the video! We aew about to do ordering and install of our underslung LPG, how did you decide on how big a tank to get, was it just the size that fitted into the space or did you go by how many litres it could hold/ boiler/hob usage? thank you

    • @RichieRos
      @RichieRos  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just measured up the size and made sure it was going to fit and the price was also another factor. Bigger tank = more money! 😁 Thanks for watching and best of luck with the install!

    Great video! Did you install an electric level sensor or just have a rough idea of when it needs topping up? Trying to decide if £65 for the LED fill indicators are work it.

    • @RichieRos
      @RichieRos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I installed a gas level gauge. Not the LED one. But its not working, don't know why.

    Hi Ritchie, another great video mate. Another wiring question, if you don’t mind, from the gas level indicator you said there was wires included to the gas level panel inside the van, does it also come with wires to the fuse box and earth block? Or would I need additional wiring for this, and what fuse would be required for the gas level panel?

    • @RichieRos
      @RichieRos  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You will need additional 2 core cable to run from the gas gauge indicator to the fuse box. Not sure what size fuse you will need as I haven’t hooked up the indicator yet!

    How far from the exhaust is that?

    • @RichieRos
      @RichieRos  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not too sure of the exact distance. But it’s a far enough distance to be safe! :)

    you make a big mistake, Red tank means gaseous lpg comes out of the tank and is for cooking and heating. Black tank means liquid gas comes out of the tank and is for the engine. You may not change the color of a tank. It is therefore very dangerous if the tank is changed

    😀😀Ulan stupid, that LPG tank is red for outside use, you should not paint it in black.. It wont pass MOT like this
