It was in the second week of the Continental Singers practice session that I went up to the songwriter of, "Thank You Lord" and our Tour Director, Dan Burgess, and told him I could not get into the music. I just didn't have what it seemed everyone else had on our Tour C in 1973. They really were excited and happy about the music. I, on the other hand, felt nothing. He said that if I need to go back home the CS would pay for the trip back but he asked me one question before we took that step. Glenn, have you ever read John 3:16? I told him no. Well after Dan explained what Jesus had done on the cross for me I knew what I had been missing all of my life. A simple but powerful personal relationship with the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. Understanding the power of the cross gave my life purpose and meaning. This simple verse and the message of hope and love changed my whole life.
At 64 I'm leading a bible study on the book of Acts. When I was 18 at South Highlands Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama our youth choir sang this musical. Our choir of over 50 youth was directed by Brother Don Kent who has gone home before us. This musical is still in my heart and I still sing the songs. That was one of the greatest times of my life. There will never be another time like that! PRAISE GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As a teenager I was a member of a youth musical group (tech person) that presented It's Getting Late and then The Apostle. My time with that group has shaped my entire Christian Life. I still remember most of the words and narrations even today.
I don't recall who gave me this cassette so many many years ago... but I do remember it being like my very breath and water as a new child of God. I've been looking for it, hearing parts of it way back in my memory for over 40 years. My few words come only after many many thankful tears, truly! God knew, as a musician, this was the best way to uphold me, sustain me, and carry me through those first months, the honeymoon experience with Him, the Love of my life!

this was the first record album I owned. I purchased it back in the early 70s as a teenager. It blessed me immensely! I havent played it in a long time, ( I really need to buy myself a turntable) but hearing it here brings back pleasant memories.
I did a Drama Musical of the Apostle Paul. We used Tradition of our Fathers, A Quiet Time, Love, You are not Alone, That Which I Would Not, Thank You Lord & Paul & Barnabas
