Hi all, just want to add my verdict, we bought a kia stonic a few weeks ago, the 2020 1ltr turbo stonic 3 in auto, I never really looked at kia because in my mind they didnt really build a tasty car, however after this vehicle it has changed my mind, the stonic is a wicked car its quick for a 1 litre and shocked me, the car genuinely drives great, the only little gripes I have is the steering is light (could be a pro to some) and the suspension is a little stiff but not stupidly stiff and finally the boot isn't as big as I thought but in all honesty they are extremely minimal worries, the car drives fantastic for what it is and the build quality is fantastic for the price I do genuinely recommend this vehicle
I hate SUVs, they are taking over the world, I’m car designer and I’m tired to work on them every day, please people, stop buying them! If you need space then buy a proper minivan, if you want one off-road buy one, and if you want one sport car please BUY one! For God sake, don´t try to buy something that pretends to do all at the same time. Buying this tasteless things over and over is killing the variety and the creativity, it is killing my job! we are less and less compelled to do something really nice and pushed to do just something the majority of mediocre buyers want to spend money on. Keep it REAL.
You think that SUV´s are one "peoples choice" phenomenon? no, all people have been constantly brainwashed to convince themselves that this is "the thing" and you "must have" reason for that is that car makers want to shrink costs to profit more, keeping long line ups with a variety of models costs lots of money and demands lots of designers to create them all, if they can convince buyers that all they need can be found in a "magic pill" of SUV than they win, not lots of engeneers and designers are going to be needed, because they can be doing just endless small variations of the same boring thing and the beautifull cars that have been loved for decades and was my passion making me choose this carrear will be just a memory of the past, a poster on the wall, or a "furniture" in the garage of the rich, with roads crouded with tasteless SUV´s, is like convince everyone to eat just burger and fries, and forget about all the other food.
maybe to you d... We have crappy sedans which are too big and rubbish out side and without space inside,some half decent hatchbacks, and I think people always adored jeeps like cars but wasnt able to buy them,now with suvs it much cheaper to have atv like car..
I love the looks of the euh car. But I don't have faith in the longevity from the modern gasoline engines with direct injection, stop-start, turbo's, etc.
Rebecca is looking as beautiful as usual. As for the Stonic, which is not for sale in the states yet, move here and bring it with you. We can use it to tow your race car to Watkins Glen.

We are looking at getting a 1.0 auto. We need an automatic.What are these car like for long distance journeys of 3,4,5 hours? What about up and down hills in the Lake District for instance? Any help would be appreciated, cheers.

Rename the “model “......quadruple the sales.....Kia “celebrity ” , kia “adventure “, or Kia “ blaze “ would sound much better......I could think of a thousand names better than “stonic “. ...just sounds naff ....people like cars with pleasant , descriptive ,catchy or performance names /numbers ....after all , it is their pride and joy.....
I love Kia, but I have a real problem with this vehicle. The Stonic is low. REALLY low! That, coupled with the fact that it has no AWD option makes me say, this is not a good compact SUV option. It comes with inferior engines to its competition and lacks the driving position and space to compete. You'd be better off buying the Kia Soul! Far more practical, powerful, better optioned and taller. What do you think?
Hi John, you are correct, it is low and there is no AWD so not an SUV at all! But this is why I am going to buy it. it isnt quite an SUV and it isn't quite a hatch back. I wanted something in between.... I disagree with you about the engines though. What specifically makes you think they are "inferior"?
Comprehensive review, but PLEASE just stop using imperial units. For consumption, at least put the equivalent in liters/100km in a corner of the screen.

A small SUV is really just a hatchback . I walked past one of these that was parked next to a Corolla today and there was no difference in height 😅
