As part of my #BFYTB adventure to Camiguin I found myself checking out the beautiful island of Mantigue! This place is full of clear water, white sand and beautiful volcanic views!
But...
I had a little bit of a different experience. A little bit of a "Sea Urchin Experience". This is just some of the raw footage from my #BecomingFilipino: Your Travel Blog adventure to Mantigue Island.

hey Kyle next time you go back, ask the gentlemen in the video about the time a boat capsized in October 2014 ( all Filipinas from cebu aboard ) he rescued all 6 of them and then proceeded to swim 20 - 30 feet deep to retrieve their belongings. it was one of the most amazing things I've seen in my life! this guy had zero regard for his own life to save the lives of the others. I'll never forget it!

I admired also the locals, they can communicate in English , Bisaya & Tagalog, same thing with Kyle , all Filipinos locals & abroad are really brilliant.

I was there some 29 years ago. It was still a desert island then. I left my watch there because we were in a hurry to catch the boat back to balingoan. It was one of the most beautiful island i saw so prestine

by the way, i, together with a few friends and relatives, have been to Mantigue island in the '70s. we did not see a soul when we were there that time. we were told by our guide (who was from the main island of Camiguin) that there were a few fishermen and their families who live there but we did not see them then. when i was there, i understood why some people can swim nude or topless on a private beach -- and i was so tempted to do it, but shy with my companions, hahaha. the place was deserted, the water was so clean and clear -- clear aquamarine waters actually -- and you can see the bottom -- just what i saw on your video and more! it was paradise on earth!!! i have been wanting to go back since then, but the demands of modern life prevented me, so to speak, and now i am watching your video, so thank you so much and thank you for loving my beautiful country! it will be forever my home!!! +Kyle Jennermann
I was there in the late 90's with my cousins and office mates.About 6 on us on the fisherman boat together with the fisherman we hired to take us there.The water was rough going home we almost capsize.But the island is beautiful with a few settlers that were very poor but sustained themselves with the bounty of the sea.It was only us tourist in that area that time.Such was a very memorable experience.
Hey Kulas can you do your own MTV Version of the Filipino band, Smokey Mountain's song "Da Coconut Nut" when you're surrounded by coconuts while on one of the islands. : )
