Thank you for sharing this special deck! I backed the Green Menagerie on KS because I love my other Matt Green decks. The refine and play is one of my favorites. I was a little nervous that this would not resonate with me but took the leap because I trusted the creator. When it arrived I was shocked by how cohesive it was and how easily it reads. I was not surprised by the lovely quality. I adore the box and the matte green edging. The cardstock is lovely as are the backs. But what has made me keep this deck within arms reach since receiving it, is the fact that it is such a pleasure to work with. It is such a lovely treasure and I am so thrilled to have it. I have not seen much about it on TH-cam which makes this video a very welcome treat. Thank you so much, Simon.
It is truly amazing to me how these work together. Im not a person who even needs that...I love a chaos deck, but this really doesn't feel that way. It truly has its own unique cohesiveness.
I love it when they make them thick and quality. Already the Fool gave me fuzzy feels. And I thought I wasn't into mixed art decks. Also I lost my breath on that 8 of wands. Situation severe. Somebody please give us an rws like that. 😍

I really don't understand or can follow the logic, don't these people want their goods distributed as widely as possible? Beautiful deck! Pretty early on in my Tarot journey, I found the decks that I thought I would love, turned out to be not quite "it". I made my own deck with images that I love and captured what I felt the meanings of the cards were. The backs and font are the same on each card, but the images are all different. I know some people don't like this type of deck, but it really speaks to me. Over the years I have made myself theme decks, faerie, witchy, retro, Christmas/winter. I am currently working on a fashion deck. So much fun!
I was surprised when I first saw the deck on kickstarter how much I liked a deck with such different art styles but I really do like the deck. There are a few cards where I feel like the art is not as polished and refined as the majority of the deck. For example, the four of cups card, the hand is abnormally larger than the figure and the left foot only has three toes. The line drawings of the cups feel half baked on the card too. Maybe I wouldn’t notice quite so much if the rest of the deck wasn’t so amazing. In the end, there were only about 7 cards from the whole deck that I felt could have been better executed but overall it’s a great deck and surprisingly harmonious despite the wildly different art styles.
I was absolutely happy with it until someone on KS pointed out the mistake on one of the cards…I have a hard time dealing with things like that on expensive decks. I kind of expect the creator to send replacement cards like in an earlier deck by another creator but have heard nothing about that yet… fyi 8 of swords has number XIII !!
Tbh two things Im over already is multi artist decks, no story or cohesion. I include the Alleyman gimmick. I absolutely abhor A.I decks. I want real art and representation of my European heritage.
It seems that there’s been an explosion of AI created decks especially on Etsy recently. I don’t mind a creator using ai for a specific thing that will then be used in conjunction with other artwork for like a collage deck but full on AI…nope. Can’t. Are some of them surface level pretty? Yes. There are many however that lack substance and I value that especially for tarot. Some ai decks don’t make a lick of sense lol. I do love this deck though. It’s a magpie in the right way.
The lack of cohesive narrative doesn’t work for me. Certain cards are amazing and I could imagine one choosing some of these cards and keeping them to put together with your ultimate deck if you bought enough decks but as a stand alone reading deck this wouldn’t work for me. That’s very creative. Do you use MPC?
@@the_hermits_cave Yes, mostly MPC. I experiment with sizes and card stock. I have used Board Games Maker as well.
