this might be a weird thing to say, but i really appreciate the way Emmy preserves the privacy of her family. She mentions them, but they never appear on camera. So many youtubers exploit their families and children for their videos and i love that Emmy doesn't do that. The most responsible way to use this platform imo.

In one of her older videos after her first child was born, she showed his head (he was in a baby papoose against her chest) but didn’t show his face, and stated that she didn’t want to show him on camera because he wasn’t able to consent to being in her videos, which I thought was really cool of her. :)

Many, many years ago when my wife and I were first dating I found an orange sulfur self mushroom in the woods, brought it home, and prepared it that night for dinner for her. (She's a vegetarian.) I made a sun dried tomato pesto with sauteed o.s.s.mushroons over linguine. Even though she saw the mushroom before I cut it up and cooked it (We both did a second identification check against our fungi field guides before deciding to eat it) she still thought I snuck chicken into the dish. We've been laughing about "...tastes like chicken for over thirty-two years now. I hope you and your family have many, many fun years of hunting for mushrooms.

Wow. When I was working as an ESL teacher in Xinjiang, I found many Uyghur restaurants served this delicious deep-fried mushrooms appetizer comprised of oyster mushrooms ripped apart into small strips, breaded with a cumin and chili powder batter, and fried to a delicious crisp. It wasn't the healthiest thing in the world but it sure was delicious! The Mandarin name is 干炸蘑菇 (gan zha mo gu - Dry-fried mushrooms).

I just tried "Gardien" vegan Nashville Hot chicken tenders last week (frozen product from the grocery store) I brushed them with extra virgin olive oil and baked for 20 minutes...They were really crunchy and crispy and also delicious! It almost scared me how much it could've passed for real (possibly cheap quality) chicken.
Gardien makes plain chicken tenders too if you can't tolerate spicy food.

Where I live, we pick chanterelles in any forest, regardless of whether someone owns it or not. This is because we in Sweden have something called the right of public access.
The chanterelle is probably the world's tastiest edible mushroom

I use a mixure of mushrooms and soak them in not chicken bouillon. After a 8-24 hour soaking. I pulse them in a food processor into small chunks. I mix in a bunch of ingredients, egg and bread it up. Then deep fry.

I would be so eager to watch an entire series where Emmy teaches us about different mushrooms and plants that are edible and how find them, identify them, and then lastly of course how to eat them and enjoy them! Perhaps with a recipe. I’d watch every stinkin’ one feeling confident afterwards that if I were ever lost in the woods, I wouldn’t die within the first 30minutes 😅

Tip to make super crunchy fried Chicken(or anything) instead of an egg wash or even buttermilk I use plain yogurt reg or greek and slightly thinit out with some milk or egg. It makes the flour stick like glue plus makes a thicker flour coating which brings more crunch
