I have a 94 double wide, commodore and it doesn’t look as outdated as the one youre looking at.😮 wouldn’t that be awesome to create your own Trailer? I ,mean they do it for houses. When I was 24 I purchased a new trailer for 23 grand. I could pick my rug color and sink ,wallpaper…even outside color. (Imagine anxiously waiting for your new home to be gray in color, not like puke. I thought I was imagining this, but the guy said there is no way it would leave the lot with the wrong color. Well I was right lol
My first guess would be it is a formal dining room, until I saw the desk. It could be an office, sunroom, dining, or media room! I like it anyway! I would use it as a craft room though! Plenty of light, and it's close to the kitchen. I really like this floor plan. I could have so much fun renovating this one! It's fabulous for someone without kids. Single person.
I found this interesting - I genuinely thought the “tin cans” were long gone by the mid 90s, and replaced with modern vinyl sided/asphalt roofed units. Who the hell was buying tin sided units in 1999? I can’t imagine there was much in the way of cost savings… on another note, my parents bathroom in our 1998 Liberty double-wide had the same countertops as this one - that weird “watercolor floral pinkish purply” finish. Love these videos, keep ‘em coming!!
There’s a tour on TH-cam of a 2008 in the south and it still has the aluminum siding and the interior storm windows. I guess in the south the lowest budget ones went on for a long time! In northern climates theirs sometimes an 80s model with aluminum but that’s about it.
This floor plan is basically the same as the one my mom had. The first owner used that front room as her sewing room, when my mom bought that mobile home she used that as her TV room. I love that mobile home it seemed very spacious and that was in the 90s when she purchased it
Ron should never doubt Donnie's ability to know the year of manufacture! 😅 Fun to see a different layout! Thanks for taking us along. 😃 🤔 Kind of reminds me of a game my wife and I play at thrift stores that have clothes patterns. We try to guess the year the pattern was published. Some are easy to get close (think 1960's) but some seem easy to guess but can be tricky if they are a kind of throwback design! 🤓
As for the “graceland” windows - even as a kid, I always felt these were “a wealthy man’s idea of what a poor man believes a wealthy man would have in their house.” I just chock it up to the myriad of head-scratching design choices these builders throw into their homes. In the 1970s it was vinyl padded trim, shag carpeting, and brown paneling. Today, it’s grey on grey, rolled vinyl flooring throughout, and plastic farmhouse sinks.
Hello Danny From the looks of it, it looks like they put two mobiles homes together! That room is probably a dinning room, so they wouldn't take up space in that kitchen with a table! It's a long mobile home and you can tell from the outside they may have added an extra piece to it In my opinion! Have a great day yal 😊
Interesting model I'd figured out that even though the roof is the way it is that the rest of the Homewood speak for itself it certainly does I enjoy your channel you actually spend great time with your subscribers and viewers and take your time instead of doing an 8 minute walk through well but I'm just saying it's better quality videos and much more enjoyable than some other videos the truth is I like them all
Where I'm from in the mid nineties a lot of 16x90 single wides were popular. Most had 4 bedrooms and a few were 5 bedrooms. Another thing that was popular in my area back then was actually considered a multi section, but it was a single wide with one extra room on the front with a large deck. The room was usually a large fancy kitchen. Leaving more room in the living room and often a fourth bedroom. I have never seen one of those as a repo in my area or anywhere. Back then you didn't have to finance your land as a package not even the large double wides, but back then a fancy 28x80 was about $60k or less. I wish the old layouts were still available but with the modern finishes and appliances.
@mybrotherdonnie I haven't seen a 90 footer since the late nineties. I'm from Tuscaloosa, AL I don't know if they were available in all areas, but they were popular back then in Tuscaloosa. I hope one shows up for you to see and share with us. I love these videos. I don't why, but they are more fascinating than the new ones. Perhaps it's a stroll down memory lane. Only in my memories they weren't rode hard and put up wet. Lol
I used to have a 1998 Redman and it was the more classic layout, but I had an octagonal island in the kitchen, and the laundry was in between the kitchen and the living room, wrapped in cabinets, kind of like the one's between the kitchen and sunroom in this one.
I bet they wish they was affiliated with y'all! LOL. I have a taupey brown on my Florida themed bathroom wall ( it's beachy decorated and the colors pop! ) and the paint name is Mauve! ??? Just like y'all were talking about on those light tan walls...is what I meant. LOL. That ratty 'ol master bath for today's renter/buyer, I'd put in a double sink, tear out that big useless garden tub and put in a walk in shower and move the toilet over where that shower is now. Nicer.
If I was you fellas I would look in to this one it’s the best one yet that’s older. I think that front room is a formal dinning room. Changing out the counter and a good cleaning in the kitchen think you’re good to go
In the kitchen is the breakfast nook. The other room is a "formal" dining room. At least that's how I would use it. A lot of possibilities with this one.
My nephew found a 98 double wide in Oklahoma, its rough, he keeps asking me if I want to put it on my land down there. I've watched you and every time he brings it up I get this dread in my stomach.
This model doesn't add up. Built in '99 but it has that metal roof? I have never seen any modular home from the late 90s with a roof like that. I almost wonder if this was a special order unit, and to save money on the build they went with a old style metal roof vs a regular shingled roof. Metal Roofs would be loud when it rains.
Mine's a '99 Palm Harbor, 3 or 4 pitched roof but has the same metal skin, not all rusted though. Having metal panels put on it right now and looking good. I love the sound of rain on the roof.
Has Donnie got his T-shirt on inside out? No offense, sometimes my husband does that too. I am mystified about this model too, maybe it was marketed as a 'Carolina Room with a desk" model, never have seen one like this, but looks like it is from somewhere out west...
I had one like that I bought in 1990 that was a 1989 Oak Wood was the brand. My electrical box caught on fire. Thank God it happened during the day because the box was right behind my master bedroom door. There’s no way I could have gotten out. Window air conditioner in one window and a big heavy bed blocking the other. And no insurance thanks to Bidennomics!😢😢
can someone please explain the area in the kitchen that has a counter in the corner but frosted plastic?? what is it and how was it used? does the frosted plastic lift up? slide? i dont get what is behind that frosted plastic. can someone explain what i am looking at? i would remove that thing! someone can have a nice little home, hope they have kids. thanks if anyone can shed light on that corner thing. yuck

What, no pet smell, can you get that in an aerosol? 🤪
You can tell this one was abused. No new roof, counter tops are absolutely disgusting. Not the worst obviously, but I rarely see a nice trade in at a dealership. They are all beat to snot.
Yes. My Mother is living in a 2001 Double Wide. It started falling apart in 2016. The plumbing and pipes on these houses are CHEAP. All the fittings, pipes, super cheap parts. My Parents had multiple calls to Plumbers to fix things between 2016 and 2022. Water would get into the flooring/carpet and stuff had to be replaced. The floor in the kitchen right now is warped, and has been warped for years. The toilet in the back bathroom almost fell through the floor. My sister put 2x4 wood down. Currently awaiting on a mobile home repair company to come out and redo their bathroom. They live in South Delaware, and it is very hard to find good help. Scheduling them to do work is weeks out, then they cancel on you the day before the day they are supposed to come out. Very annoying. I will say that the cold winters in Delaware a few miles from the Ocean probably have a more negative affect on the longevity of a mobile home compared to North Carolina or South Carolina, or other areas down south. Her energy bills are very very high in the winter time too. $500+ a month, and her house is still cold! First 14 years were great! 2015 the AC went out, and then major plumbing issues started in 2016. Major issue every 12-18 months since then it seems. My Dad Had to have the Septic Tank Pump replaced before he passed away in 2021. My Mom had the roof replaced after a high wind storm damaged it beyond repair. Insurance company said her roof should have been replaced at least 4 years prior so they only covered 62% of it. So at least it has a new roof now. They had some roof shingles replaced two times prior to that a few years back. So the roof lasted like 15 -16 years before it needed replacement. I believe these homes are designed to last 15 years and that's it before replacements and maintenance gets expensive.
I remember the name Redman though I've never seen one. My Palm Harbor is this age, a cheap model compared to others, but definitely a better choice than other brands I looked at when I bought it.
My guess is a den area/ family room given it has a built in desk for possibly a PC. Very innovative layout. I haven't seen Redmond homes in years
It is very interesting
The concrete blocks on the counter tops got me!😒😬🙄
😊That is a breakfast room. I use to live in one just like it. Mine was a 1994 Fleetwood
Thanks

Probably the coolest home in the trailer park with a sunroom and the layout. Enjoyed the tour guys!
Thanks
I really like the layout of this home. The built in desk area, and the sunroom too. Just needs updates in the kitchen counters.
Yep

It sure is a different layout
I love this floor plan!
Thanks
Redman was pretty popular in our are in that time frame. The one I have is a Spirit 16 by 80 but several similarities.
Thanks

@ yeah, up here, nearly everything has thermopane windows - well, anything after 2000 or so.
Keep the sun out, cool tour
Thanks

Donnie's T-shirt is LEGENDARY!
I don’t think so
Thanks, guys, for the video. Catch you on Friday .
Thank you see you then

I like it fine. Lotsa possibilities.
Yep
Dining room. Honestly, I'd use it for an office.
Cool
I'd say den area but would use as dining. You can build out the kitchen a bit more. I see potential!
Finning room, the cabinets are fit your best dishes.
Ok thanks for the info
I love older mobile homes they have so much character compared to newer ones
Yep
I had this exact floor plan in my single wide it was indeed a 1999
Cool
The older tin is so much thicker than the new tin.
Yep

You could probably custom order it. I didn’t know they went longer than an 80. They would probably have to to get a five bedroom.
@mybrotherdonnie I haven't seen a 90 footer since the late nineties. I'm from Tuscaloosa, AL I don't know if they were available in all areas, but they were popular back then in Tuscaloosa. @ a lot of things in this life is rode hard and put up wet
Formal Dining Room. I do like this layout
Very possible

It's a dining room. Some people used that room for there X-mas tree and decorations that can be displayed for the neighbors to see
Ok
@mybrotherdonnie love the show, I just stumbled onto you guys last night and watched alot of different ones.
In the kitchen is the breakfast nook. The other room is a "formal" dining room. At least that's how I would use it. A lot of possibilities with this one.
Yep
Redmond was a common brand here in Michigan.
Den , dining room or sunroom - be creative 😊
My friend's trailer in Fla. has a lanai like the Golden Girls. How damn classy.😂
I was actually called a breakfast room looked at one brand new in the 90s
Ok thanks for the info
What’s the size of that trailer?
14x not sure
Family room is always near the kitchen.
It's a Dinning room!!
Ok thanks
My first mobile home was a 96 model, now I’m in a 2007. I wish I still had the older one, this newer one is not holding up well at all.
I can see that the newer stuff is the cheaper it is
I just don’t understand those big ole tubs. Heck, I have one and you can only put about 5 inches of water in it before the water runs cold.
looks like a dining room to me.
Could be
I think the "sunroom" was an office I think 🤔
I would call that sunroom space a Den since you could put a pull out couch in there or a Murphy Bed.
I can see that
My nephew found a 98 double wide in Oklahoma, its rough, he keeps asking me if I want to put it on my land down there. I've watched you and every time he brings it up I get this dread in my stomach.
Some of these give me nightmares.
I was guessing 1999 but sort of cheating I have one with the same gold panels in the kitchen.
That’s not fair

The roof just needs a good coating of cool seal. Problem solved.
Yep
Thats like the a bedroom with a built in office..id say its closer to a 94 model
Front den looked at one new.
Thanks for the info
How much was this one
I do not know
It's a dining room!
