Hello Patrick and Stuart, your new (old) finds are so exiting and just the tip of the iceberg I'm sure. So glad Tony told you to switch it up. Thank you for including us on your journey. Seeing Alllllllllll your fur babies will be great too. Praying that things go smoothly (you get all your pieces parts correctly and in a timely
I love that little green space. You could pick up some really cheap temporary windows from a demolition yard, might be just as cheap as a bit of plastic but more effective
Excellent idea sorting out the rubbish. I've seen Chateau owners revycle and reuse all kinds of stones they find for their walls, wood for pieces of wood that need bracing or renoing. Metal pieces from windows and doors can be reused when polished up. WONDERFUL. IDEA FOR ORIGINAL CHATEAU ITEMS. EXCELLENT😀
Stuart & Patrick, the bed crown & drapes looks amazing, they bring so much character to the beautiful room! What a productive day Patrick, can you cover up the window, with the missing glass with ply wood, for the time being,to stop water damage! 🥰
Good morning Patrick & Stuart, this is such a practical video, taking a break from the renovation, out in the garden, the best alternative! Love that little seedling room, I would remove the ceiling completely after fixing the roof and take out the window completely and build a new frame with new window panes, just saying. Imagine a window in the wall and door and looking out onto that new dahlia flower bed, Oh my goodness, that would be wonderful. I have a suggestion: visit Claus Dalby Welcome to my garden. It is so enjoyable, Claus seems like the perfect gardener!! He uses "dahlia cages" to keep the plants upright, believe me when it rains, they all bend over as they are heavy plants and some can even snap. If noting else, make yourselves these cages, you will be so glad you have gone to the extra cost and time to make these. Just trust me on this. Your dahlias are going to be stunning. Remember, as the tubers multiply, you can sell them to cover costs. I am so excited when I saw that box with the plants. Remember, prepare the soil, good drainage, very rich soil and feed those plants!, you will be so rewarded. I am so happy for you at the Chateaux, you have settled in so nicely and now things are starting to buzz. Try and buy some citrus, lemon a must as well as limes. You have so much space and these will reward you with very little labour. It all is hard work, but it is good for you, mind body and soul. Do take care, always be safe, your videos are so enjoyable, Why don't you remove that Boston ivy completely at the little potting room, plant some boxwood's and make a little hedge, it would look so cute! Remember, I am just saying, suggesting. Love all the doge together, they are just too gorgeous. Many blessing, Elize.
Patrick, I wish I had half your energy. You are a speed demon! You accomplished so much outdoors. Indeed, that ivy and mistletoe are your trees's worst enemies. Goodness, you will be busy planting all those dahlias, but what a garden you will have.
The greenhouse is fantastic! I love the doors and you hoo window. All the gorgeous door fixtures. I want a chateau so much, my husband despises the idea. So, I live vicariously through all you lovely chateau Châtelaines. I’m blown away by the size of the ivy roots, they’re huge! The greenhouse is gonna need a bunch of shelves and pots. I can’t wait to see what you do! It’s so exciting seeing each area change. You guys are doing such a great job! The ivy is crazy! Glad to see you chopping away. I love pruning. ♥️🇫🇷🏰
Patrick, you're pretty funny "this could fall on my head". No wonder Stuart loves you. My husband is really funny too and we laugh a lot. A sense of humor is invaluable. Maybe look at LaLande's greenhouse setup. Seems to work pretty well for them.
That room is absolutely darling! 😍 I imagine it fully repaired and tomato plants and seedlings sitting in the window with the Boston ivy in all its greenery framing lower part.......yes my brain went there 🤣🥰🥰🥰🥰 can't wait to see the transformation in the future for that space ❤❤❤ Oml!!! More hidden gems!!! Oh I was over the moon and beyond it 🤣 I was cheering like I was at a rugby match 🤣. Restoring the door and windows......I can only imagine what it'll look like. Can't wait to see what you guys do with those 🥳🥳🥳 Colombe truly has some priceless gems and its so exciting!!! And the flowers i can't wait to see them bloom. Oh its going to be amazing!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so very much. I love your comment. The room is so pretty. A cozy nursery. The hidden gems will make the courtyard look different and more inviting. Huge hugs from us. 🌹🥰💕
So lovely and satisfying to see your new greenhouse clean up and especially the Boston Ivy eradication! I had a war with it at my first home and ended up pulling it out by the roots after repairing shutters it had destroyed, repointing bricks and redoing the parging. It is especially nice to see you pruning trees while I am still looking at snow! Well done guys!! Cheers!
My parents had a massive flower bed with dahlias of different sizes and colors, zinnias, gladiolus, some marigolds for their summer cutting garden. Then they had rose gardens with a couple hundred varieties of roses. Needless to say, our house had vases of flowers in every room. Their greenhouse helped with growing seedlings and storing the dahlia bulbs. My dad also used plexiglass as a substitute for broken glass panes by just screwing the sheets of plexiglass into the frames. I kept up the tradition of planting cutting gardens with my own twist of style, but to this day i have flowers all throughout my house. I can visualize the door being returned to the building. Every bit of cleanup and restoration makes such a huge difference. You are the best. xx
Stephanie, you conjured a wonderful image in my mind, yet again! Wonderful. Thank you so much. We will have a cutting garden for sure. Not this year, but for the future, we need a good amount of flowers. So glad you continue the tradition. We are excited about the door. And later the window. We will have to do a full tour of that wing of the chateau. Love, as always and a big thank you from Colombe. 😘🥰💖
I am so very excited for you both Patrick and Stewart in all your discoveries at your new home. Removing the ivy and finding where there used to be a door and window is an amazing find. How different the room will be once they are put into place. I don’t blame you Patrick for being excited. Hope Stewards ankle is healing ok. The green house is so nice, and I love your raised planters for starting your seeds. I can’t wait to see your dahlias all in bloom. The colors are amazing.your gardens are going to be a blaze of colors. You both have accomplished so much in the time you’ve been in your new home. I am looking forward to your kitchen reveal too, especially since you both love to cook and entertain. I didn’t get a chance to say how fun the tractor is for you and will be so helpful in many chores. Way to tackle the cleaning up of the friends Patrick. You must sleep hard at night after all the hard work you’ve been doing. Ivy is beautiful but is deadly. So glad to see you tackle that tough ivy branch. It also destroys rockery too. I love that you get so much fruit. Sorry if this post is so long. Love the bedroom you did your video from, so pretty. Take care and love from cold Northern California. ❤❤
You two make me smile! I love these episodes. I had seen this one before, accidentally selected it again, and left it on because I enjoy watching you both so much. You truly compliment each other. So enjoy listening to what you have been up to, and seeing the results, which are always marvelous.
It must be hard deciding what projects you want to take on next, as I am sure you would like to do everything now!! I think that I would be running around in circles yelling “don’t panic!” if it was me! You have such great things to look forward to- it’s an exciting time for you, bringing this wonderful property back to life. Thanks for taking us along!🥰
Have you been looking at me when I thought no one was watching? I do have exactly that feeling some days. It is overwhelming some days. We have the next project lined up. The bathroom for family and volunteers. But you are right….. I want all things right now….. Guess I have to learn patience. 😮😅. Thank you so very much for your comment. It means a lot to us and indeed, we have so much to look forward to. Glad you are on this journey with us. ❤😊❤
The little building will make either a lovely greenhouse or potting shed. Maybe when you do the roof you could add skylights with openings activated by heat. We have these in our greenhouse and they work so well. Also consider top hung opening windows or windows that tilt from the centre to add air flow. We found a company in Poland that makes made to measure windows, beautifully made, very helpful and great value, they are called Spar windows. Love the discovery of the door, another gem.
Hi there my friends ! Just a quick hello as everyone here in California braces for yet another EPIC storm. Its been awhile since I posted, my last posts have been to late to be seen I think. I'm not getting notifications from TH-cam. I will look into that. Anyway, Lake Tahoe and the Los Angeles mountain ranges as well as everywhere else are literally under snow. Entire houses ! Palm Springs may flood🗻🏔🌨🌧🌊........🛀 from all of the melting runoff. People in the mountains are trapped in their homes running out of food. Its really been a mess. Anyway I am happy you both are doing well. Much better than us. Much love, much love !!! ❤ 🌴🌆🌉🌉🌆❤🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴
It would be lovely to bring back the door and the window and Patrick you did a great job on your little greenhouse, Stuart hope your ankle is better, the garden is going to look beautiful when it's in bloom with all those lovely flower's plenty of planting to be done.good luck with it all X💕🌼🤗
I agree. It will look great and bring much needed light and access back. The greenhouse was fun. And it will be so useful. Stuart is better but not allowed to do much. I think our summer garden wil be gorgeous. We will keep you posted. Hugs. 💖👍🏻💕
And remember John Drake’s comment to Lady Edith in Downton Abbey, after they pulled out that fruit tree: “You have to be tough with fruit trees and not let them outstay their welcome.”
that is a great reminder my friend. I have a soft spot for plants and animals though. ☺🤣 and a long time ago, for bad apples....🤣😂🤣 I'm a bit of a Lady Sybil..... who secretly wishes she was a lady Mary☺! Hope all is well in Colorado 🥰😍🥰
Patrick you did a great job removing all the ivy from the Greenhouse, walls and trees. Yes, ivy suffercates everthing and damages constructions. Also planting all the bulbs will give so much colour that will lift your spirits. Can't wait to see the dogs with their toys. But don't let them eat the flowers 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Hugs 🥰😘
😂🤣😂. Those flower eating monsters! 😡😘🤣. All the bulbs come from Holland of course. Best I ever had came from the Netherlands. ❤❤❤. Ivy is romantic looking. But we know better, don’t we? The dahlias will give so much needed happiness to different areas. Much love from us at Colombe. 💗💋💗
Patrick, Stuart, i think my parcel will be delivered tomorrow. If you need any bulbs just let me know and i can purchase them for you. No problem. We have so much choice in flowers.😘🥰
Retired landscaper here ... I don't know if you have Round-up in France, perhaps you can find something equivalent but all you need is a tiny amount. (I buy the smallest bottle I can get and work from a baby food glass jar with a lid) - When you have cut the ivy stalk, separating it from its food source of the roots, with a Q-tip or small paint brush paint the full strength liquid on the cut part of the root, making sure you have coated the bark thoroughly. Roundup is a systemic herbicide so it gets absorbed into the plant and kills the roots. Hence this will rid the trees of the ivy without the chance of damaging any of the trees it has grown up on. BE SURE TO WEAR GLOVES!!! And eye protection would be a good idea, too, if you're a klutz. :] Feel free to ask me any questions you might have, I lived in France for 3 years so understand your challenges. Keep up the good work.
We have a brush killer here and I will try your tip. Hope it works. None of the herbicides available that we knew. But I know exactly what you mean. Thank you And gloves are a must 😊. Hugs.
What a difference just cleaning up makes. Great space for a greenhouse start up. Don't you have a pile of spare rooftiles that you can put up to prevent further leakage. A lick of paint on the door and voila full operational greenhouse
Isn’t it amazing. The tiles are not the ones we have in storage. We have another for that we need to replace. We will use those tiles to restore this roof this summer. ❤❤❤
Hi Guys...#PatrickvsTheIvy. You will never be bored at Chateau de Colombe. Yard work is a slog but so rewarding, and you never know what you'll discover! 🙂 While you're searching for the fence to protect the dahlias, I'm shopping for a hand truck to move heavy plant pots. Clever, back-saving idea. Jusqu'à vendredi...
That could be a nice greenhouse area for the present. Perhaps later you'll find you'll need a bigger space. I love watching time-lapse. I wish tough jobs could actually be done with that speed! 🤣
Thank you so much my friend. A French chatelain told us that we have a rare chateau because it was not modernized to death but well maintained. Huge hugs. Always love your input and comments. 👍🏻💕🥰
Possibly,…. Place heavy clear plastic on those windows until you can replace the glass and repair the windows. It could help in the heating of this little room and will help grow the plants.
Stuart, you are getting quite the collection of toys! It must make garden restoration much less backbreaking. The greenhouse is darling! I agree with the viewer below who suggested a panel of plexiglass over the face of the whole window until it can be restored. It would have the similar effect of glass--it would function better than just putting up a "clear" plastic tarp. I am curious.....how water tight is the chapel? I can't wait to see the inside.
Your little greenhouse is awesome and will be so helpful to grow vegetable and flower seedlings. A large table would be great to house seed trays and pot up plants. Get yourself a big planting tray to contain the mess. I bought a large cat litter tray at Aldi for $5. Was much cheaper than a planting tray. To help loosen up your compacted soil, add gypsum to it. It helps. You’ll need multiple applications. It’s usually the cheapest at a feed store. Maybe you can till your soil in Fall and you add gypsum, shredded leaves ( picked up with the lawn mower) and some Bonemeal to help brake down the leaves over winter. It improves the soil tremendously. If you have homemade compost or can buy cheap in bulk, add that too. Your fruit trees will be so grateful for the big trim. It’s exciting to watch how you bring the garden back to life. Your dahlias will multiply a lot by next Fall. Dig up the tubers in Fall and you will have tons of new tubers. Laura from “Garden Answer” has great videos on how ti dig them, store them and cut them. Last Fall they left their tubers in the ground ( Oregon - USA) They covered them with plastic, sawdust, mulch etc. yo protect them from the snow and frost. There is a video about it. It’s a big investment and you don’t want to loose your rivers. She dug up some of her favorite varieties. If you grow potato vibes in pots, you can store the tubers in sand or vermiculite. Works well and saves money.
Hi Virginia. Thank you very much. We try to do things in a way that is appropriate. I get it wrong sometimes…. 😂😂😂😂. The garden will have some much needed colour and flowers. So exciting. Glad you like the bedroom. First we almost finished. Hugs. 💗💕💖
I'm so excited for you to discover that doorway! Great job cleaning up the adorable little green house room! Wish I was there to help! I'm obsessed with Dalia's! Don't have 90 bulbs, but now I'm inspired! I adore your Chateau so much! Beautiful. Bellini's and Marmelade! Yum! Enjoy your Spring and please know you are sharing with us such fun!
I've loved that little stone greenhouse since I first saw her! She has been neglected for a while but has to be pleased now that life will be returning to your space! Well done Patrick! It's a real battle with the ivy and grasses but cutting them back now will just make for better foliage in the Summer! Happy your days are getting warmer and spurring outside activities! And the magic door.......find of the vlog! That will certainly shorten your journey to the out buildings and provide a nice area for a patio or pool! Glad you took a break from the kitchen...the last vlog on sanding the old walls was brutal! I know your arms were screaming! Cheers!
Hi Jill. Isn’t she cute? I was surprised how barge the floor space is. Ivy is a true battle. We have some that grows out of walls. Hard to get rid of roots that are in stone. 😮😂. But we are fighting. The discovery of the magic door was priceless. Made us so happy. Easy access to that wing! Yay. And the warmer days help a lot. Although, right now it is pouring rain…. I know, May flowers….😊. My arms and neck were in pretty bad shape last week. Much better and we had some huge advancement today……. On the vlog tomorrow. Much love from us here at Colombe. 💗👍🏻😘
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 Just the best discovery with the clean greenhouse and secret door! Chiropractor for your poor neck and I find that a tube sock filled with pinto beans, tied in a knot, in the microwave for a few minutes then applied to your neck and shoulders works WONDERS!!! Take care of that body....it's the only one you have. Same goes for Stewart and his foot issues....rest and recover, Dr, Jilly has spokebn! Cheers!
Ur claw bucket tractor will be excellent for picking up all that vine debris. That wrecks ur wall! be gone Ivy!! Yes Terry is a very great restoration guy.!!
I was wondering if you would be looking for dog statues for the gate and on each side guarding the front dog. I think you should have a room or more for pets that travel with their owners. If you come up with a family crest you are going to need a way to include them all in. They are the Prince 🫅 and Princess 👸🏻 of their chateau. 😉☺️😉
I love how your greenhouse cleaned up....good job Patrick! Wow, how exciting it will be when you unearth 'the door'...I love those kind of surprises! Thank you for the lovely aerial shots Stuart...what beautiful surroundings! I need a nap now after watching you two do a ton of chopping, climbing and hauling! Can't say it enough....absolutely love your videos! Hugs.
Absolutely love the dogs, how many do you have? Just consider the hight of your garden fence for the dahlias, half a meter would not be high enough for our two Airedales terriers, they see this as a challenge thinking… what is she hiding behind this, let’s find out😂😂 We had to be very inventive in our garden to make it safe for our plants 🤔
Just love watching you Patrick you were really on-a-roll today you were achieved a lot in the chateau and the dahlias I just love them yellow purple and maroon also I use the leaves to rub on my arms as it stops me from itchiness as the modern medicine does not work just keep that in mind if you're feeling very itchy get the leaves of the Dahlia and rub it onto your arm so the juice comes out leave it to dry on your arm it will stop you from itching straight away don't know how this works but it just does thank you and I can't wait for your next episode
Hi! A thought. What if you put the plexiglass in a frame? hinge the frame at the top and you will be able to open it from the bottom allowing for ventilation during hot? Summers. This seems like a Tony project, if you are doing so many other things.
Yahooooo more dogs, you two are inspirational on reno and decor. Thank you for inspiring me to keep moving with the Gardens at my house and the deco inside as well. You are a treasure and Patrick you mushroom sauce is wonderful on lamb as well as duck, thx for sharing the recipe.
I’m so glad to hear that the mushroom sauce works with lamb as well. Thank you for letting me know. 😊. Keep on moving and sharing your successes. Love it. Love your comment. 🥰💗👍🏻
Hey Patrick and Stewart! Firstly, Patrick your hair is getting longer😝 is that part of the chateau life look?hehe! I’f you look at the roofing tiles on the different buildings, sometimes they have a maker mark on them. Take a pic and when on your travels you may find small batches that you can repurpose to fill some of the gaps. I know I don’t need to say but getting any roof water tight is always priority before you do anything. I’m not sure if the bottom of those frames can be saved. But you can make your own if you take one that’s decent and make your own based on that. Just a thought. Anyway! As always look forward to your vlogs and actually looking forward to as you enter into spring and summer the progress you continue to make. 🥂
Visiting France the Bordeaux region Hollyhocks were growing close to walls in hardly any soil. Same in England. Exciting things happening so enjoy the vlogs x
This sounds a bit weird, but for some reason I thoroughly enjoy watching you taking down the ivy, trim trees, clear the property and cleaning out the future greenhouse was great. You’ve made such amazing progress. Thank you for videoing it. Love all you flower bulbs. So exciting ❤
Good guess. But here, they were closed because the servants and farm workers were not supposed to be seen in the Court of Honor. There are doors and windows on both sides. 😮. I’m glad they were there. ❤
Maybe you can find some lovely antique tiles for little green house floor or do a reproduction. Everything is looking good. I love you both ❤. I’m home now. So thank you for Praying 😇🇫🇷🤩
The wasps will return within 4 years. You can use some WD40,and spray it on the former place where the nest were. Wasps don't like the oil in it and avoid the place.
Hi Patrick and Stuart another hidden gem the chateau keeps giving door would look great on the outside wall I think that room would be great for growing plants as it gets the sun you have a great selection of plant plants they are going to look so lovley you just have to decide where to put them can’t wait to see them can’t say I blame you getting out of the kitchen sometimes doing something different is good and you would not have found the door and you also had fresh air even if it was a bit cold
Isn’t it fun, finding new things? This chateau is giving us so many discoveries and options for the future. I had to take a break and it was fun. Cold but that didn’t matter. 😊. Hugs and thank you so much.
Burn out is real, I’m experiencing it now. 🥂 Have you thought of using a bed railing for a fence? They look amazing and add to the garden. Have you thought of seeding your trees with truffles.
When chores are so transformative they add to your way of living, making way for some exciting future plans in my opinion. The more you do, the more your home and property looks amazing and welcoming. That little room is so perfect as a greenhouse space. I cannot wait to see all the lovely flowers in full bloom and ready to come indoors for some beautiful floral arrangements. All you do has to be so satisfying. Have an amazing rest of the week.
Hello darling Lisa. Wonderful comment. True, chores that turn into discoveries are breathtaking. We become more and more the chatelains as opposed to visitors. Planning a garden and pre-growing flowers is so satisfying. We can’t wait for the summer to show us some colours. Love as always. 🥰💕😘
Exciting to find a hidden door opening! That’s going to be amazing to step out through it onto your courtyard….imagine how many people from the past generations have crossed it’s threshold….❤❤
oh my gosh..I love that bed crown and the flower pictures and the blue pillows. The whole bedroom looks lovely in the video! So jealous of the greenhouse. It looks so good all cleaned up. I am excited about your door! Can't wait to see it being uncovered and in use!
The bed is so beautiful that you filmed today. It made a lovely backdrop. I had to laugh when you said that you needed a break from the sanding and mess of kitchen renovations and then proceeded to clean out the random messy outbuilding for the garden shed and attack the garden like a demented Don Burke (Famous Australian TV Gardner). It was like, tell me you are renovating the Chateau without telling me you are renovating a Chateau!!!
😂🤣😂. I absolutely love your comment. Thank you so much. Angela, cleaning that greenhouse was actually relaxing 🤣😂🤣. Seriously. I’d go for demented…. It seems that’s is better than my state of mind 😂😂😂😂. Absolutely love your comment. Hugs and love from Colombe. 👍🏻💋👍🏻
I had a great problem with ivy climbing everywhere the only thing that got rid of it was common household salt but you couldn’t plant it near a tree because it would kill your tree but if you have any problem trees salt will kill it off especially conifers just pour the salt on the ground but you cannot plant flowers in the ground after
That door that is covered up is a great find. You both got so much gardening done. Yes, the Ivy is beautiful but causes so much damage. I look forward to seeing all of those flowers bloom. It is always great to see the fur babies. Amber has good taste in flowers. She won't be happy if she can't get to eat them. LOL!

I love that little green space. You could pick up some really cheap temporary windows from a demolition yard, might be just as cheap as a bit of plastic but more effective
That sounds good but demolition yards are not a French/German thing. We will fix the windows. However, it’s a greenhouse….. 😊

Hi there, guys!!! I missed the live yesterdat. I’m catching up now!!! I love your cute little greenhouse!!! 🤗❤️🎶🇨🇦
Thank you so much. Glad you watched the episode. ❤❤❤
Patrick, I wish I had half your energy. You are a speed demon! You accomplished so much outdoors. Indeed, that ivy and mistletoe are your trees's worst enemies. Goodness, you will be busy planting all those dahlias, but what a garden you will have.
Grass always grows where you don't want it, but wont grow where you want it to be

Spot on guys, Ivy kills buildings and trees doing a great job cutting it down. Will be good to open up the existing door you found.
That room is absolutely darling! 😍 I imagine it fully repaired and tomato plants and seedlings sitting in the window with the Boston ivy in all its greenery framing lower part.......yes my brain went there 🤣🥰🥰🥰🥰 can't wait to see the transformation in the future for that space ❤❤❤

Gardening what a treat! The greenhouse is so wonderful l loved the hatch in the window with wire for airflow. 😊
Happy Wednesday friends 👍
Happy Wednesday my dear. Hope all is well. Great love chat today. Hugs from Colombe. 😊❤😊
I am looking forward to re-establishing the door and window. What a wonderful discovery. Great work guys. 👍

Stuart hopefully your ankle has healed!
Slow progress. Thank you so much. 😘👍🏻😘
I wish you did Chanel every day. I so look forward to it ...
Thank you so much. That is absolutely sweet of you. Made my day! Hugs. 🥰👍🏻💖
a copper nail should kill the root.. I cut a small 2 inch piece of copper pipe and pound it into the stump to kill a tree...
It does work, indeed. Thank you so much. 😊
Omg!!! Patrick I thought you guys are taking a break from work, and you still working!!! Take care ok😘💓💓
You two make me smile! I love these episodes. I had seen this one before, accidentally selected it again, and left it on because I enjoy watching you both so much. You truly compliment each other. So enjoy listening to what you have been up to, and seeing the results, which are always marvelous.
Thank you, Bobbie! 😀
Waiting to watch 😸☺My kitty Milo and me.💛
Hi Milo and of course Kate. Hope you enjoyed it. ❤😊❤ 🐈
Thank you! 💕
I missed most of the video, so I am watching it now 😄
The little building will make either a lovely greenhouse or potting shed.
See ya in the morning over coffee 🤣
Happy coffe and good morning to you. 👍🏻😘💕
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 good morning Stuart and Patrick and all the babies 🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕💞 pls wait for me I can't post until15 th x
I enjoy you two SO MUCH! You are such fun, despite the hours, days, weeks, years of very hard work. Love your enthusiasm and senses of humor.
Thank you so much!
Hugs. 💖👍🏻💕
love the table lights in that bedroom , just beautiful
And remember John Drake’s comment to Lady Edith in Downton Abbey, after they pulled out that fruit tree: “You have to be tough with fruit trees and not let them outstay their welcome.”
that is a great reminder my friend. I have a soft spot for plants and animals though. ☺🤣 and a long time ago, for bad apples....🤣😂🤣
I'm a bit of a Lady Sybil..... who secretly wishes she was a lady Mary☺!
But don't let them eat the flowers 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hugs 🥰😘
Thank you so much for the toys! You will get to see how much they love them. 🥰
Patrick, Stuart, i think my parcel will be delivered tomorrow. If you need any bulbs just let me know and i can purchase them for you. No problem. We have so much choice in flowers.😘🥰
Can not wait
💋💋💋
oops! fashion) for the kitchen Reno. Please stay well. Hugs.
That tractor is so useful. Great to see the trees being given life . A good week now that you have started your greenhouse. Best wishes
No, they do not have Round-up here in France. We used it occasionally in the states. Thanks!
No, you’re amazing!!
You are so sweet. 😘😘😘
Addition: your château and outbuildings are one BIG gem!!! Which I love to come and see. And help where I can!
Thank you so much my friend. A French chatelain told us that we have a rare chateau because it was not modernized to death but well maintained. Huge hugs. Always love your input and comments. 👍🏻💕🥰
The garden is going to be amazing! Thank you for the video!
"A lot of holes with at bit of metal around" - love that comment 😄😄😄😄
Possibly,…. Place heavy clear plastic on those windows until you can replace the glass and repair the windows. It could help in the heating of this little room and will help grow the plants.
You need to buy a small hand held electric saw for quick tree trimming. Once again lessen your work load and time. Love the dahlias😃
I love you green house space…very charming….great job…❤
Tony is so good at carpentry
Your opening gets me every time! It’s the BEST!!
Thank you, Susan! 💕
What a perfect little greenhouse:)
A good cleanup is so rewarding - can’t wait for all those bulbs to blossom 🌷🌺🌸🌹🌺🌸
Thank you so much and I agree 😊❤😊
Stuart, you are getting quite the collection of toys! It must make garden restoration much less backbreaking. The greenhouse is darling! I agree with the viewer below who suggested a panel of plexiglass over the face of the whole window until it can be restored. It would have the similar effect of glass--it would function better than just putting up a "clear" plastic tarp. I am curious.....how water tight is the chapel? I can't wait to see the inside.
Thanks!
Thank you so much! 💕💕
Patrick you are like the energizer bunny! So much you have done. Thank you for sharing your journey. Love from Ohio.
You are so very kind to me. I love it. Hugs. ❤😊❤
It’s just so much fun joining you with all your daily adventures in such a beautiful location!
Thank you. So glad you like it. Hugs from Colombe. 💕💕💕
Love the green house you’ve uncovered and cleaned out! You guys are going to get a lot of use out of that ❤ from 🇱🇷
Hello all the way from San Antonio Texas, great to see your progress. I can’t wait for spring!! You have fantastic ideas!!! Keep up the good work.
You tow always make me smile! Thank you!
I love your "joie de vivre".
Thank you Donna. It is great to be able to do at these things. Hugs from Colombe and much appreciated as always. 💗😘💖
We've have snow today all day ! The flowers are beautiful, and I can't wait to see them in bloom .
Oh no.. more snow? Oh my. Be safe. We can’t wait either. We will keep you posted. Hugs. ❤❤❤
Last Fall they left their tubers in the ground ( Oregon - USA)
They covered them with plastic, sawdust, mulch etc. yo protect them from the snow and frost.
There is a video about it.
It’s a big investment and you don’t want to loose your rivers.
She dug up some of her favorite varieties.
If you grow potato vibes in pots, you can store the tubers in sand or vermiculite.
Works well and saves money.
Oh my lots of 🐕 doggies@
You gentlemen put 200% into everything you do. Can't wait to see the bulbs in bloom. Love that bedroom very tastefully done.
Thanks so much!💕
Hi Virginia. Thank you very much. We try to do things in a way that is appropriate. I get it wrong sometimes…. 😂😂😂😂. The garden will have some much needed colour and flowers. So exciting. Glad you like the bedroom. First we almost finished. Hugs. 💗💕💖
Good morning 😊
Good morning and a great day. ❤😊❤
I love doing yard work. Instant gratification. Looking good
Thank you so much. Absolutely gratifying, I agree. Hugs. ❤
I love it. Thank you so much. 🐕🥰💖👍🏻🐕
Hugs.
Those branches are perfect for a hedge to make.
Love your vlogs and especially the show of dogs. We have 2 airdales and they great big teddy bears. Thanks for the peak into your daily lives
Absolutely love the dogs, how many do you have?
Just consider the hight of your garden fence for the dahlias, half a meter would not be high enough for our two Airedales terriers, they see this as a challenge thinking… what is she hiding behind this, let’s find out😂😂
We had to be very inventive in our garden to make it safe for our plants 🤔
Your videos are always so refreshing! Bon weekend!
very exciting find! If you have an old all-steel box spring laying around, it makes a good drag for soil and pea-gravel.
We will get a custom weed scratcher for the front! Cannot wait. Great top. Thank you so much. 🥰👍🏻🥰
The wooden window frame of the greenhouse is so pretty. It would b a shame if you couldn’t save it- painted your outside trim color!
Hi! A thought. What if you put the plexiglass in a frame? hinge the frame at the top and you will be able to open it from the bottom allowing for ventilation during hot? Summers. This seems like a Tony project, if you are doing so many other things.
That is a great idea! Thank you so much. Love it. 💖💕👍🏻
ThBk you very much. It was satisfying to do the work, so it makes sense that it is enjoyable to watch the progress. Huge. 💗🥰👍🏻
Maybe the window and door were blocked due to the window tax. Great find though!
Have you thought of using a bed railing for a fence? They look amazing and add
to the garden.
Have you thought of seeding your trees with truffles.
They make 4x8’ sheets of opaque poly-carbonate roofing, panels that would work in place of the windows as well
When chores are so transformative they add to your way of living, making way for some exciting future plans in my opinion.
The windows 😂
Exciting to find a hidden door opening! That’s going to be amazing to step out through it onto your courtyard….imagine how many people from the past generations have crossed it’s threshold….❤❤
So true. Love your comment. 💗🥰💗
The bedroom you filmed dialogue in is very well done. Beautiful ! Great job with garden shed clean up ❤
Thank you very much. Love the bedroom and the little room is really pretty. Hugs. 😊😊😊
oh my gosh..I love that bed crown and the flower pictures and the blue pillows. The whole bedroom looks lovely in the video! So jealous of the greenhouse. It looks so good all cleaned up. I am excited about your door! Can't wait to see it being uncovered and in use!
Thank you so very much. It is such a cozy room. The greenhouse is such a joyful little room. Hugs. ❤❤❤
I had a great problem with ivy climbing everywhere the only thing that got rid of it was common household salt but you couldn’t plant it near a tree because it would kill your tree but if you have any problem trees salt will kill it off especially conifers just pour the salt on the ground but you cannot plant flowers in the ground after
So so pretty
Thank you so much gorgeous. Was great to see you in the chat. Hope all is well. Love from Colombe. 💕💗💋
LOL!
Lots of fun stuff going on at the chateau!
It’s a busy place. 😊
looks like that hidden door might be tall enough- so exciting about all the future flowers
