What features are missing that you want in the next model?

Hello my friend , Ryobi needs to come out with a gen 3 with more power ,better dust control ,less bulky top guard ,a shoe that can zero to 90 degree .I am a carpenter and had the first blade right brushless saw and was very dissapointed, I liked the lightweight but the power was depressing .

I hope this is a real question and you actually want to make the tools better.... I have used Ryobi my whole life first my dads blue ones and now as a pro all the modern lime green ones.. and every tool works just fine EXCEPT the circular saw. Every Ryobi circular saw I have ever used it under powered and out of square. I don't know why you guys can't make a square saw. I wouod GLADLY pay an extra $20 for a square saw with a little more power. This is the one tool that has to be square. Due to me wasting money buying 4 or 5 different model Ryobis circular saws... I have finally switched over to Milwaukee. The Milwaukee circular saw is great and I have zero complaints. When this came out in the store I was really excited because I wanted to go back to Ryobi.. but I have seen multiple reviews showing how the tool is out of square and sits at 88 degrees. I'm still hoping you will fix this issue.

My wife purchased this saw for me and I have been using it for a few months now. I like the saw and it cuts well, very smooth cuts and while i have heard some people getting the saw with some minor deflection on the blade out of the box (workshoaddict) l so far haven't had this problem.
I will say though that compared to other saws, it seriously lacks stability because of the stamped plate. If this was say a thicker magnesium plate and all metal adjustments then i would argue the saw is nearly perfect. I haven't been able to collect much dust with it either though so there's another minor complaint.
Other than these issues though it cuts great and has way more power than i expected.
Going forward if they fix these issues then this will seriously start leaning more towards a pro saw rather than a DIY (eyeballing the craftsman v20 brush-less circular saw)

I have the Dewalt 60v circular saw...with one battery. When it dies, I'm requesting the client's outlet access so I can run a corded tool from their home to my now-moved-closer cutting table. I have a few Ryobi non-HP tools. I have used my brother-inlaw's non-HP 5.5" saw with my standard 4aH battery and it tended to bog down on cross cuts. More of a hassle on that smaller saw. This HP circular saw seems to fit the bill for me to have an extra saw on hand and ready to perform to either finish the day out or to use while charging the 60v. Still in a pickle to buy this HP saw as a bare tool and use my current non-HP batteries or just get a second 60v Dewalt battery. I know others prefer to keep close to a battery platform, I'm not too bothered by that. Ryobi HP seems their way of going pro-sumer and maybe more. Thank you very much for this video. I also subscribed.

I bought a Ryobi corded circular saw for guaranteed power output specifically because of everyone’s review on the older model. I’m skeptical still, but I probably won’t buy it hence because I already have one. Is my corded saw annoying? Heck yes! But like I said, guaranteed power output is the reason I went corded.

The only differences I could really see was the vacuum adapter (which is nice), and the blade being on the opposite side (I don't care one way or the other). If it were me, I would stick with the old brushless. If you didn't have brushless or need a new one, I'd recommend this for sure. Or if you are like me and just want all the new HP tools... 😜

The front right of the base plate looks warped, the cuts will be bevelled.
I had this issue with a DeWalt tracksaw, it was infuriating.
Anyways, this saw isn't going to be a finish level tool, it's more suited to just ripping the boards down to size. I'm considering buying it, but waiting for a better price alongside an included battery.

It's a good saw. I own it. Seems there's a lot of mudslinging BS out there about this saw, but for my money, 179 including a 5AH battery (129 tool only), there's not a better value out there.

I'm a big Ryobi fan. Their 40v platform outdoor tools like the backpack blower is really good, however, at the price these tools cost, it's cheaper usually to buy a 2cy gas version. I'd LOVE to buy ALL their tools and ditch my gas equipment but there's one huge problem that I think people who buy their higher end 40v platform outdoor tools is 5his. They're EXPENSIVE, they should have a lifetime warranty on their batteries, otherwise it doesn't make sense to buy a 500$ backpack blower over a gas model. The problem that's gonna bite people in the ass is this. That blower uses 2- 6AH batteries. It comes with one charger. I can only charge batteries one at a time. The charger should do both together. Next, to really give the tool the same capabilities of a gas blower, there has to be 4 batteries, so when the 2 you're using die, you can grab 2 more and recharge the w you just used. Next, a 4ah battery pack is over $130. A 6ahbhas to go for $200.. a charger is around $130. A combo bat and charger kit is fucking expensive a s hell. I've had those batteries fail after a couple years. They have a 3 yr warranty, so. I assume Ryobi expects them to have at least a 3 yr lifespan. A battery can only be charged and discharged X number of times. I'm sure they've done marketing research and have an idea of how often the average homeowner is gonna use a tool. Let's look at the scenario for the 40v hp brushless backpack whisper series blower. That's not something used year round. Given someone buys that tool, assume they have other tools in that platform.... Let's say, a push mower, a weed whacker, a hedge trimmer, brush cutter, etc. Most people can't afford to have a shit load of $150-$180+ batteries.. say they have a patio sweeper, a vacuum, a handheld blower, maybe a snowblower. Those batteries Ready gonna be used frequently.. say Thay last a couple years under average use. IF they die and R replaced under warranty, vthats a pain in the ass to submit a claim and have them replaced. Now you're without batteries and thus without tools.. Say you only have the blower. You're limited to maybe 45 minutes use before having to recharge the batteries one at a time which takes a couple hours each. A two hour job on a Saturday now takes 6 hours to get half way through. If you SCRAMBLE once you have two batteries recharged, you do a less than perfect job trying to rush and finish before the batteries die again and need recharging. So, that 2 hours job actually took 7 or more to do. Let's say you're able to clear your leaves in about an hour. Than the tool is adequate for you. But, there's the inconvenience of recharging two batteries one at a time. You charge one, make a trip to the garage and swap it out with the 2nd dead battery. A couple hours later, you have to go and take the 2nd battery out of the charger because it's detrimental to leave a battery 8n a charger once it's fully charged. Plus, even though it's not a big amount of energy, the charger does consume power when it's plugged in. The charger only has a finite lifespan.. I've had a charger quit and start indicating I have a defective battery pack when there's no battery in the fucking thing.. that's a $140 hit. So, you buy this awesome backpack whisper series blower for $500. A comperable 2cy will be about the same price, maybe less. You basically have infinite runtime with that. You run out of gas, you fill the tank in a couple minutes and ur up and running again and your 2 hours jobbtakes 2 hours. Say you take care of your power tools like I do. They'll last a lifetime in most cases. You're $420 dollar investment in a 2cy blower has given you ur moneys worth for sure. Now, the Battery blower... No tuneups, no winter storage 8ssues, no spark plug changes, no buying fresh gas and carefully premixing it with 2xy oil. No problems starting every time you want to use it. U can pick it up and press a button and make a hell of a lot less noise too. Last but not least. Say it's good quality tool and you have no issues with it maybe you even get lucky and your charger never shits the bed. You have to deal with the inherent limited lifespan of the batteries.. over time, the blower is gonna lose performance slowly. The batteries are lithium ion, so the tool isn't gonna run slower as the batteries are depleted when being used because the voltage decreases as the battery discharges, and is still able to deliver the same current at the rated voltages, and the tool operates at full performance right to the end and just stops when the battery is dead. What happens is the runtime decreases over the lifespan of the battery. What used to be a solid hour or use decreases the same so slowly you don't even notice it until one day you notice you can only use them for 45 minutes. Then its30, next thing you know you're getting 20.minutes out of a fully charged battery and they have to be replaced. Since you're looking at dropping over $400 for new batteries, you're stuck with the 15 minute hard use for a while being aggravated the whole time and even more pissed off over the fact that you didn't even consider having to essentially buy your $500 blower again every 3 years or so, and are left feeling like you got hoodwinked, Flimflammed, Bam BOOZLED if you will when you bought this freaking tool by the marketing... The eye catching bright yellow tools and box with contrasting gray rubber handles and printing that noted all the pluses,. New features and enhanced performance the tool has over their older brushed motor model and over competitors products and you gl9ss3d over the need to replace cost prohibitively expensive batteries every couple years forever. Something you don't have to do with a 2cy gas blower.
