What I adore about Amon Amarth, is no matter how hard their music is, no matter how intense their lyrics, they have some of the best melodic riffs in modern metal 1:39 is a perfect example
As a fanfiction author, I sometimes listen to this song when writing about one of my characters, Sophie. She lives in a world filled with monsters, and ever since they destroyed her home village when she was a kid, she hated them. Like, one time, she died and met Cerberus on her way out of the underworld (the show my fanfiction is based on doesn´t have a canonical underworld as of yet, so I sprinkle in a few things from various interpretations of hell and see what styx :) ). Anyway, she punched one of his heads off and walked straight through the gates of the underworld. She didn´t even open them first. She also went through genetic experiments, which resulted in her being able to shoot fire and lightning from her hands, and sometimes there´s a literal fire tornado around her when she fights these monsters. Sophie also tends to be quite brutal when fighting, as she sometimes drowns these monsters in molten tar, impales them on lamp posts, just rips their heads off or does something else that´s equally inhumane. When they try to eat her, she just blows them up from the inside. Anyway, I have a playlist of songs I listen to when writing about Sophie, and almost all of them deal with genocide or vengeance.
Why's this song in my head? I mean just because an incompetent colleague tried to frame me for his fuckup nearly costing me a promotion I'd only held for an hour why should a song about the most brutal viking execution be in my head?
I'm definitely not a fan of Amon Amarth, and I think it all comes down to his Lyrics. They're too expository, the meter is always boring, and the phrasing is really cliche usually.

Scary song.
Vikings is the best show, I love there culture, teaching my kids thier ways
Vikings is a good show, most precise about viking cultures. But it is absolutely not real vikings.
Read about it dont watch about it
viking wasn't a culture it was an occupation, you went aviking to attain wealth. The show is neat but it is laughably inaccurate
Y'all have some book recommendations??
Nothing to add!!!
Jarl borg
Vikings brought us here. I know one person I'd do this to.
This is waiting for attackers if they try to take our lands here in Finnish dark forrests.
Dont take the knee family!!!
Odin didn't raise us to take the knee

So, why are you here again?
Then why the fuck are you here you idiot, go the fuck away before you blood eagled yourself.
@damanorelse I bet you lift your pinkie when you raise your horn to the sky too
Then leave. This is true music, you don't belong here. Numbskull.
Am I the only one who'd like to hear Cannibal Corpse cover this? Seems like their kind of material.
