We are descendants from West Africa which includes many countries in West Africa including modern day Nigeria . Because alot of the slaves that landed in Haiti spoke many different languages that is what ended giving birth to Haitian Creole. Which is a mix of majority languages spoken at the time in the region, french, and some Portuguese. Nigeria didn't exist as a country until the late 19 hundreds and Haiti was the second country in the Western Hemisphere after US. So Haiti couldn't be the descendants to a country it existed before. The proper term would be some Haitians and Nigerians share common ancestors.

If you are asking me how do I personally not see the holes in the prison analogy? Here's one reason why: It was against the law to run away as a slave, we were property, same as prisoners today are state property or federal property, so to say it was a choice that they didn't run away is a idiotic statement. ( mind you plenty did and were murdered for it, as well as ones who didn't as a deterrent) Same as saying why don't prisoners today just escape. Its fitting.

We are descendants from West Africa which includes many countries in West Africa including modern day Nigeria . Because alot of the slaves that landed in Haiti spoke many different languages that is what ended giving birth to Haitian Creole. Which is a mix of majority languages spoken at the time in the region, french, and some Portuguese. Nigeria didn't exist as a country until the late 19 hundreds and Haiti was the second country in the Western Hemisphere after US. So Haiti couldn't be the descendants to a country it existed before. The proper term would be some Haitians and Nigerians share common ancestors.
