It may be an unpopular opinion, but James is one of the most consistent characters on the Steam Team, even during the CGI series. His vain attitude mixed with his willingness to understand where he screwed up is what makes him stand out in my view.
Yeah, until BWBA screwed everything up.

I revisted the Thomas series a while back and while watching all the seasons, I quickly realized that James was indeed my favorite. I really don't know what it is about James but he sort of stands out against the others in a way that makes me laugh at his personality. He's.....arrogant but not to the point where he's completely irredeemable. But he always wants to get the work done to the best and fullest plus he actually likes to have fun and laugh. He's just...FUN. :)
One thing I've been thinking about. Alec Baldwin tried to give most characters a distinct voice in seasons 5 and 6. I've always wondered why Alec Baldwin gave James more of a flamboyant and elegant voice. That's not a bad thing, in fact it's probably my favorite voice for James, just kind of an oddity.

There's nothing wrong with characters having feelings for each other! Cars did it!
I assumed Alec chose this voice to accentuate the narcissism and pride in James' character. I was always a fan of his interpretation of James!

When hearing james voice in season 5 and 6 i thought he sounded like a girl because his voice has that type of accent that some womans have XD
James really is an incredible character especially in the earlier seasons
But as time went on, that incredibility has started to wain in.
James is my favorite I love everything about him from his giant ego to his "splendid" red paint, James is the best.

James has always been a favourite for me too. Always loved his energetic and showboat-y personality with a small soft side deep within. His theme is also my favourite out of the character themes for sure.

You forgot to mention how while filming Thomas and the Magic Railroad, James fell off the set. This happened during the smelter's scene. Where diesel 10 threatens him and junior.
I remember that scene. I think Diesel 10 is just upset that he's not young and good looking like ma bois

My childhood favorite too. Moguls and medium-sized mixed-traffic engines are special to me because of James.

I remember always wanting a toy James solely because he was red. I always hated how rude he was when I was a little kid, but the more I relearn about TTTE the more he starts to grow on me lol 😂.
James is probably the most underrated Character in Thomas
Totally! Poor boy's been through literal hell and back, and he barely even gets attention from any of his friends. In fact, most of them tease him for his mistakes. Also, I love all his voices throughout the show (Aside from his s15-18 US voice, which I think made him sound wayyy too old)

James has to be one of the characters I love and hate because he boasts a lot, but his design is amazing!
True, but he is just a Mogul modification of the LY&R Class 28 0-6-0 which was used MAINLY as a goods locomotive as 0-6-0 tender locomotives were common freight locomotives at the time and still are even when used on passenger duties.

Wonderful man. Talking about James, I would love to hear your's and other's most favourite James voice. If you notice James has a very high pitched voice but not to a level of childishness. So, basically like a teen. I would say my personal one was Michael Angelis in the classic series (s1 to7) I just loved his energetic yet a little fed up voice, and he also had a sort of style that no other could replicate for James. And we all know that in the us dub of s5 and 6, James is definitely hiding something, don't we.
Yeah, he probably had his "moment of clarity" if you get my drift.

For anyone wanting to know about James' model in the 1953 BBC adaption
He like Henry and Edward was a repainted Hornby Dublo of Atholl model.
No footage or photos of these models are known to exist but can be assumed to have a similar livery to P.R. Wickham's O gauge models (who also painted the models for the 1953 pilot)

James is my second favorite character of the show. I loved him ever since I was a kid. But he is and always will be my favorite regular size tender engine and red engine on Sodor.

James is actually my favourite too and i am as dissapointed as you are with the fact of James likely not being in S25. But theres some hope as he actually is listed on the character list for S25.
James will appear in season 25, I think I saw it on the wiki. But he’ll most likely only be for background stuff

Just come across this channel, and I have to say I really enjoy it. I stopped watching the show in about season 8 after bullying at school, so I've not yet seen any of the CGI stories, or Busy Bee James as shown in this episode.
I love the historical aspects of the show, and all the models. This show is defo the main reason I'm into railways (real and models) as much as I am, although my Hornby Thomas desperately needs a new drive gear.

Another thing about James: I wonder why there are so many scrap shells of certain characters used as set dressing vs. others. The only characters I remember seeing are Thomas, Gordon, and Donald/ Douglas. Those characters all did a lot of "stunts" early on, so it makes sense. But then you have characters like James and Henry who were also had a lot of screen time and stunts; but you never see them as set dressing.
Tbh you should be happy James is not going to hell in the next season

My favourite character of the ST as well :) The only thing I don't like about him is the fact that in the CGI series, they decided to make him taller, which is incredibly distracting when he is beside engines like Edward. I liked it when the two o them where the same size, and that made the contrast between them stronger. Now James towers over everyone and it doesn't look right

About you shown how in The Green Controller James was painted in what they called a busy bee paint livery. In real life, the Denver and Rio Grande narrow gauge railroad had a similar paint livery they called the Bumblebee, engine 268 on display in Colorado still wears that livery

Did want to mention, for TATMRR they made a tonne of new brass models - specifically for engines 1-7 except Edward, splodge, D10 and Lady.
I think in every single one of these so far I've heard the words automotive pin stripe tape, custom cut vinyl stickers and you guessed it this mod was 22 years old at the time 😂 no shade

Actually I think James is going to be in season 25 due to some promo art of him on a season 25 book. Also a lot of people say that they're going to watch some of season 25 I'm not I don't wanna risk having my eyes bleed.
