Poovar island located near the meeting point of Neyyar river and the Arebian sea. In poovar island we can see river and sea together. The 2 hour boat ride to poover island in which 6 to 7 persons can accommodate in single boat. The boat charges are 3000 to 4000 rupees. The way to poovar island through backwater covered with mangroves forest, colorful birds and lush green environment. Floating cottages and floating restaurants are there for refreshment and stay. The charges of floating cottages are quite high. The island is so beautiful where one side is arebian sea and other side nayyar river.
It is the must visit place in Trivendrum visit.
