Fantastic! The Toyworld stores in Ottawa had exactly the same ones and I can confirm they had glass because my hand prints were allover them whenever I went in. I have the 1960's Corgi Toys show case out of the Winnipeg Hudson's Bay and it is now full of mine and my brother's Corgi and Dinky Toys.
Cheers!
Thanks to share it !! ( From France ) 🙂👍
Awesome collection.
Those planes are amazing. The whole catalogue collection. Wow!
Those trucks are very cool!
Nice to see one of us(a Canadian) on here. I recall seeing these display cases in a couple of different places,at Eaton's and another store in the HALIFAX SHOPPING CENTER. This would have been around 1970 or 1971. There was also one in a hardware store in my old neighborhood. They had a MATCHBOX display case with plastic windows. It swivelled. You selected the one you wanted and the lady working there(not friendly;she followed EVERYONE around the store) got one from behind the till. They were there, boxed, like a miniature warehouse,a piece of plywood as a barrier. I'm 59. Early 1970s. 50 cents each. Not a nice couple(the owners), but I did love that display case.
Hi Mike
thanks for the nice comment - those cases with those gem-like little Dinky Toys.... at 7 or 8 yrs old - I didn't just want them - I needed them! You reminded me of the procedure - the clerks had no idea of the semi-religious experience their young customers were going through :+)
@@DLWELD I knew a guy who,in the early 70s,had EVERYTHING! I was 10 and he was 12. Didn't know him that well but I did sometimes take ball hockey shots at him. He had goalie gear(first time I'd ever seen it for ball hockey),a proper net and LOADS of Dinky Toys. He's a doctor now. Can still see those cases, especially the one at Eaton's.
What a delight. My mother bought me a Dinky Javelin from Toy World--second from the right, at the top--when I was about three years old, I still have it! :o)
I love the military vehicles!
I'd love it in the model room to put my Dinky army collection...
What a great treasure trove your attic is
Great collection, I wish I would have save my toys .
Surprised there are no comments on this. Beautiful display...thanks for sharing. I am a Canadian Collector, let me know if you are interested in selling this and your airplane collection.
Hi Scott - doubt you'll read this, but re your comment... time goes on and I will be selling at some point - shipping the display would be a challenge. I'm West Coast Canada...
@@DLWELD The display and the toys are amazing,- would love to hear the story of how and where you found it!
Wow that is a True collection you have
What a great collection! Would you consider selling?
I'd be interested to know if you sold it. Just read some comments.
WOW that is a killer store display! I totally love it! Thanks for showing it off!
hi do you still have all your dinky for sale? , i m also interesting of buying them i m from montreal thanks in advance
Do you still have the display case? I would be interested in it if you wanted to sell it.
I still have it and I guess everything is for sale at the right price :+) - but the mechanics of shipping the case sort of boggles the mind. It does disassemble slightly.
I bet those toys live their own lives in the attic while you're asleep! Marvellous!
I do hear little driving noises sometimes.
