    One day after the eruption
    This video begins by showing the debris-clogged Columbia River. Shipping along the river was halted as millions of tons of trees, logs, mud and silt flowed into the river. Submerged logging equipment and entire trees can be seen in the video and the large river was turned brown.
    Area homes along the banks of the Toutle river were flooded as a result of the massive wall of water that swept through the valley.
    Herds of cows were stranded in the high water as the fields surrounding the river were inundated.
    As the aerials continue there are clearer views of the destruction left behind from the eruption and historic flooding.
    This is newly restored video from the KGW archives converted to full HD.

    Fascinating to watch after all these years. Was hard for me to figure out where they were as they flew up-river.

    First thing I thought of after the eruption was let’s go get some gold they said it stripped the land of soil down to bedrock shit that’s a gold miners dream
