Okay. Well, obviously that little inset with the twine should be a full size real life door! Replace the twine with steel rods - maybe rebar for the additional texture - with one bar running along near the edge, lifted or bent up in a bump to make the door handle. For a modern version you could do a high gloss epoxy finish black door with LED colored strips replacing the twine. Finish with a custom clear acrylic door handle with LED lights inside. Haha! Good art is so inspiring and I love this piece, Sergio. BTW, I also love your bracelets.

A little part of me died when I saw you paint over the rust dripping on the bottom edge of the canvas. Up until that point, it was one of my favourite parts of the painting. More natural dripping effects!!! You’ve got the ratio for that rust mixture with the pigment PERFECT. Looks great!!! 👍

Your textures always amaze me! May I ask why you use pigment powder in some cases rather than paint? Is it due to a lower viscosity? I still have to order your book but it would be wonderful to have a book with the “why” of what you do.

En ce qui concerne la création d'effets de rouille, c'est en effet possible de le faire en utilisant des peintures acryliques avec cinq couleurs spécifiques que comme je montre dans certaines de mes vidéos. Cela peut être une expérience artistique enrichissante et vous permet de personnaliser les effets selon vos préférences. Par contre si vous souhaitez un vrai effet rouille c'est miieux d'acheter un produit existant!
Yes it's possible with this steps, add More Gesso Powder: The simplest way to thicken gesso is to add more gesso powder to the mixture. Start with a small amount and gradually increase until you achieve the desired thickness, But it's better if you buy it, to choose a thicker one
Hello Barbara ! The rust activator depends on the brand of rust mixture you are using. For example, if you're using Powertex products, white vinegar is often recommended as an activator. However, other brands may suggest different types of solutions. Be sure to follow the specific instructions of the product you're using for the best results. If not, there's always paint: I have several videos explaining how to achieve rust effects using a sponge and playing with 5 or 6 acrylic colors. You can find them on my channel in the playlist dedicated to rust effects.
Johny, Make a smooth paste in a cup with Powertex add approximately 25% Rust powder until it is a mouse-gray colour. Add a dash of vinegar and water and mix again. Apply a layer of this paste with a brush or palette knife onto your artwork. To change color of the rust use any pigments you wish, blue, green, cadmium with some vinegar. You sould try several times before to find the best effects. Happy creative time !

Okay. Well, obviously that little inset with the twine should be a full size real life door! Replace the twine with steel rods - maybe rebar for the additional texture - with one bar running along near the edge, lifted or bent up in a bump to make the door handle. For a modern version you could do a high gloss epoxy finish black door with LED colored strips replacing the twine. Finish with a custom clear acrylic door handle with LED lights inside. Haha! Good art is so inspiring and I love this piece, Sergio. BTW, I also love your bracelets.

A little part of me died when I saw you paint over the rust dripping on the bottom edge of the canvas. Up until that point, it was one of my favourite parts of the painting. More natural dripping effects!!! You’ve got the ratio for that rust mixture with the pigment PERFECT. Looks great!!! 👍

Your textures always amaze me! May I ask why you use pigment powder in some cases rather than paint? Is it due to a lower viscosity? I still have to order your book but it would be wonderful to have a book with the “why” of what you do.

En ce qui concerne la création d'effets de rouille, c'est en effet possible de le faire en utilisant des peintures acryliques avec cinq couleurs spécifiques que comme je montre dans certaines de mes vidéos. Cela peut être une expérience artistique enrichissante et vous permet de personnaliser les effets selon vos préférences. Par contre si vous souhaitez un vrai effet rouille c'est miieux d'acheter un produit existant!

Hello Barbara ! The rust activator depends on the brand of rust mixture you are using. For example, if you're using Powertex products, white vinegar is often recommended as an activator. However, other brands may suggest different types of solutions. Be sure to follow the specific instructions of the product you're using for the best results. If not, there's always paint: I have several videos explaining how to achieve rust effects using a sponge and playing with 5 or 6 acrylic colors. You can find them on my channel in the playlist dedicated to rust effects.

Johny, Make a smooth paste in a cup with Powertex add approximately 25% Rust powder until it is a mouse-gray colour. Add a dash of vinegar and water and mix again. Apply a layer of this paste with a brush or palette knife onto your artwork. To change color of the rust use any pigments you wish, blue, green, cadmium with some vinegar. You sould try several times before to find the best effects. Happy creative time !
