I think what Konnan is trying to say is, Rush is going to wrestle aggressively like he always does,no matter if the company wants the other guy to look good 😅
Rush and his crew could easily be a top heel faction in AEW and they should be. Instead we get every week Jericho and his goofy gang and every week the BBC.
I can buy Danielson going insane after the MJF loss, he just needs better things to say on the mic, he needs to show that he's as smart as he is insane. I can buy Moxley as an outlaw, the camera crew or whoever backstage just needs to do something about capturing him blading on camera all the time, like that has to be being done on purpose at this point, to try to make him look bad. The way Jim and Brian talk about him, seems to me as if Brian actually has a personal problem with him though. Claudio, he should be like a quiet, technical wrestling, killing machine with a lady manager though. I don't know much about the other guys though but, they should be top heels and not having to compete with who they have been.
AEW doesn't know how to book. The company is a joke because of it. I don't care about watching the product at all anymore. Nobody matters in AEW. They are all just there and fight matches that in the end have no purpose. most matches last like 15 minutes, it takes main eventers 15 minutes to beat job guys when those matches should at most last 5 to 7 minutes. And bad booking has damaged every top guy from Bryan to Cole. At this point AEW can't recover from it because the problem isnt the talent for the most part its the company's management and booking.
@@zeromagnum2811 Not sure if AEW can't recover but I agree on the booking issue. Tony Khan needs to step back as booker and let it handle someone who knows to book. Rush always has good matches against people who aren't scared of giving back to him. That's how you actually have a match that feels intense with agency. Jungle Boy was expecting Rush to pause and wait to get hit, which is the modern indie style. Obviously just my mark interpretation. Though to be fair, Rush did no-sell some of Jungleboys offense. Which makes me think it was either planned to be this way, or he went in for himself.
They needed to tell Rush hey, you gotta be generous in this match, this is the match before a huge world title match, and take your licks. Rush just looked great, I think he did what he did to showcase himself and threw caution to the wind. Rush is fucking fantastic.
great points. rush actually knows how to work and jungle boy only knows how to memorize sequences of moves. rush is old school and was doing what he’d normally do, but at the same time he must’ve known jungle boy wasn’t gonna give it back to him and he was like “welp, not my problem this jabroni can’t work”
He wasn't selling none of his moves dipshit and made him look weak as fuck to get himself over what the fuck where you watching I'm not a fan of Jack Perry but oh well he was a number one contender he shouldn't have gotten buried like that
I had a honor of meeting Mr. Rush in Grand Rapids on ROH show. He came across as very humble and nice guy. I am 150% sure that if Jungle boy, before a match would come to Mr. Rush and asked him not to be too stiff, I am very sure that Mr. Rush would take it easy on him in the ring. Mr. Rush seems to be a very nice and intelligent man. I have heard stories from MANY wrestlers that most of their opponents would take it easy on them if asked politely in respectfully. Al Snow mentioned that one time he was wrestling Bruiser Brody, and he just came up to him and asked him not to be too stiff as he (Snow) was still sore from previous day, and even Bruiser Brodie, who was known for stiffness, according to Al Snow "Took good care of me and kept his word". I am very sure that Mr. Rush would do the same. And yes. Mr. Rush is better then 99% of AEW roster. He should be in a championship picture. The only guys on AEW roster who come even close to Mr. Rush are: Pentagon, Ray Fenix, Brian Danielson and Takeshita. Everyone else is not worthy of cleaning Rush's shoes and carrying his luggage. I honestly believe that Tony Khan is racist, he is NOT pushing Luchadores, and Luchadores are the BEST part of AEW.
If you’re talking about Rush, how he looked, what his style is, etc., you are proving Cornette right! Jungle Boy is in the title picture, Rush isn’t. As Jim famously said, “Who the hell are we pushing!”
In AAA he was actually undefeated.... LMAOOOOo too who? El Pollo Loco?? El Payazo Rojo?? Nobody could match up with Rush in AAA, so it makes sense that he was undefeated.
It sounds almost like Rush had solid training and a manly influence in his formative years. The kid who plays Jungle Boy should be doing non-speaking roles in shampoo commercials.
Lol they admit they didn't listen the entire clip, thus missing Cornette's actual point. Cornette's main issue was that Jungle Boy was in the upcoming *World Title* match at the PPV. Therefore making it waaay worse that Rush was out there squashing him.
I didn't know who Rush was until AEW, but I quickly became a fan. I love his no wasted movement aggression heel style with the right amount of arrogance. He should be at or near the top of the card.
I'm a fan of RUSH he truly comes off as authentic. That being said that was the wrong call putting him in the spot to lose to a talent like Jungle Boy. RUSH took look at him and was like fuck this! He goin learn today! Nobody can protect you better than you.
if konnan listened to the whole clip, not that he has to, he would've heard jim bury everyone for the post match beatdown of jb, and shutting down darby who came in for the save. it was a cold match with a post-match beatdown and a thwarted save. corny buried the promotion more than rush himself for signing off on that sort of thing on a ppv go home show where 2 of the guys who're in the title match got made to look like shit.
@@billythekid22220 it was that long for a reason, none of them listened to it, knowing they were going to the question on the show. if they had listened to it it would've been cherry picked to death, which is also fine, but at least it won't be blind defense/vilification.
Really interesting conversation, but Jim was right. Konnans context on Mexico is cool, but this match was in the US. Rush hasn't been booked as anything and Bungle Joy was due to be in the 4 way. Cornette even said they could have used this to pull him out of the 4 way and Rush could use it as a way in.
AEW is booked and run by a doofus mark. Him being Green doesn't matter because they branded him a pillar just for being there at the start despite the fact he's done nothing to merit being in a world title match. Tony Khan does not know how to properly book pro wrestling.
No DI. His issue was not Perry gettin his ass whooped. Any other day, he would welcome it. His issue is that Rush ruined JB credibility and made him look weak ahead of the PPV Title Match. For absolutely no reason at all. Put him self over for absolutely nothing
i’m a bit shocked that legit names see so much in Jungle Boy (He should’ve never been put on live tv) he looks like a typical indie guy! a huge reason he’s been pushed is nepotism (he’s also a narcissist that plays up being uncomfortable in public) If he’s such a basket case why break into a business where you have to intact with the public/fans (Doesn’t make much sense) Strange that he gets away with so much diva behavior and nobody calls him on it
Disco's point makes sense, but it doesn't negate Corny's. If Rush wants to put the boots to someone who's not "giving it to him" the right way, he needs to pick his spots, Jungle Boy was on his way to wrestle for a world title and he looked like an absolute pussy in there. Also K-Dog saying Rush was a big star in ROH is fuckin' hilarious.
@Joey Skywalker the ref wear IFBs and there's agents n bookers in gorilla relaying messages to the ref. They could have told the ref to tell Rush to CHILL
@William S as bad as the booking is on this show maybe that's how the match was planned out. Wouldn't this be an obvious fireable offense if rush did this in his own?
I truely believe it can be fixed with more ring work together, RUSH just 😂 funny enough dial it back a tiny bit and Jungle Boy Jack Perry needs to give more emotional effort.
That's not really the issue. Based on recent comments he made when in the UK Jungle boy doesn't have the passion to be a wrestler. He basically said don't do it in a question about being a wrestler. That is why he comes off like he does. He is there and has a attitude of not wanting to be there based on those comments. Its AEW's fault this happened for even putting a guy as green and lame as him in a world title program to begin with.
That's why Jungle Boy has no business being in a title match! And after this match it was even obvious to all the uneducated fans who thought he was great lol!
It reminded me of the Cena JBL match.. If you gonna book a guy like he's fighting from underneath. You got to book him wit somebody like rush to make it look like it and be safe about it. Did The boy get hurt? No. No issue. You're the under under dog. you never gonna look great and be believable. Rush make it look like he can take a beating, He did his job.
Yeah, what does Disco think Jungle Boy should do? Really try to hurt him like Rush was doing? If you clothesline a guy, he has to sell it, it's the business. They are making it look like a real fight, and making sure they don't hurt each other, not busting a guy open and licking his blood while pretending nothing the other guy is doing hurts, because it's not suppose to, if he's doing it right.
I totally disagree with you guys .Why would you destroy a guy whose going to be in a major main event at the ppv ,3 days before that said event on national TV .RIDICULOUS 🤔
A big part of the issue that was taken with things was how that match went and the no selling on JB right before JB is wrestling in a main event match for the world title. Basically, shouldn’t be making a guy look so inept like he did when he’s in a match like that coming up. But he also mentioned there were issues with JB and how green he was and that he should have fought back but couldn’t. And a lot of his issue was that knowing that he couldn’t prevent it that the agents should have ensured that Rush didn’t work that way since JB couldn’t do anything about it. He also had issue with things Rush did on top of not selling that were cocky and made JB look like total shit like putting the foot on the chest for a pin. But I don’t think anybody believed JB had a chance before that anyways so it didn’t do all that much harm anyways but it did ensure that nobody thought JB would have a chance in hell whatsoever which again was the bulk of the issue Corny brought forward over anything else.
Jungle Boy is not a top guy and doesn't even look like one. Rush looks like a million dollars, wrestles very well and is more believable as a top guy. AEW paying him to flounder there.
I first saw RUSH in Ring of Honor, and that is what his matches looked like most of the time. The match with Moxley was similar, but Moxley was into that and gave it back. Jungle Boy does not know how to wrestle in a traditional and probably cannot really fight, so it looks like a kid getting beat up by an adult. Nothing in AEW is called in the ring so they had to go over this in the back, and Perry probably just was shaking his head yes and did not understand what was going to happen, or he figured it would get over and went along with bumping like a jobber because again he does not know any better.
I'm all for vets teaching guys in the ring but there was a time and place to do it. It definitely hurt my perception of JB going into Double or Nothing.
I agree with everything you all said I'll just add, what terrible terrible booking. By a terrible booker. Either don't book Jungle Boy against a guy that can do this to him or if you want this match after he didn't win on Sunday have it sometime after when Jack isn't in the main event. I could see Jim being right and Rush is sent home or maybe not but the booker Tony Khan needed to apologize to Jack Perry because Tony screwed up.
The entire 16 minutes of Cornette's review is a must listen for anyone interested in psychology and booking. The first 4 way I ever saw was In Your House 13: Final Four. Vader vs Undertaker vs Bret Hart vs Steve Austin. Imagine if a week before the pay per view Justin Hawk Bradshaw (JBL) beat the crap out of one of those 4 guys and treated them like a jobber. This shows how dumb Tony is, he should have just put Jungle Boy in a squash match.
The best part of that match was the overhead belly to belly & Jack Perry almost broke his neck. The 2nd best part is how Jungle Boy won with a small package, after taking that much of an ass whooping.
Well thats what jim said, "He did everything except piss in his mouth", which I dont think you're supposed to do to a world championship contender. And jungle boy did fight back, its just that rush didnt sell. Now, another point was brought up here, yes rush looks/works a lot better than most of the roster bc they dont train and dont take it seriously, "All friends wrestling", which is another problem jim and brian talked abt since aew's inception.
I’ve got to be honest, both Corny and the K100 crew made valid points about the entire Jungle Boy vs. Rush match. Rush wrestles physical and definitely brought it, while Jungle Boy (as a modern indie wrestler) just doesn’t have that in him. The match still had an ending that was booked atrociously. And nothing about this made Jungle Boy (who is already the weakest “pillar”) look any better. Rush’s manhandling of Jungle Jack only worked to exacerbate the issues.
I kinda wonder if Rush was taking his frustrations out on Perry after the junk he said in regards to who he’d get his advice from. Forgot who he mentioned but I know he wasn’t about listening or taking advice from veterans like Billy Gunn. If Rush is as old-school as he seems, maybe that’s why he came across so aggressive despite how he shouldn’t have been as Jungle Boy had an upcoming PPV main event match coming up.
Konnan You said it right, He needs to be reprogrammed but to be fair he's not the only one Even people that have been wrestling in the United States their whole entire life need to be reprogrammed

Like an artist in rap getting Nicki Minaj to sing with them. If they don't TAKE the lead they're getting buried on their own song and the fans would say oh ok it's Nicki's song now.
RUSH considers Billy Gunn a mentor behind the scenes and didn't like Jungle Boy's rude comment about Billy at a recent Q/A, so he took it out on Jungle Boy. Rush is old school, respects the veterans and did it for Billy.
This kind of changes things
then he's over with me for that. jungle jackoff is an idiot for saying those comments outloud.

Oh that would be awesome. I’ve been dying for someone to take that twerp’s head off the second he puts his hands in his pockets
My guy. People want wrestling and then cry when they get a convincing display of violence.
Real fights are uncomfortable, off putting and ugly. So it says a lot about people upset about it.
I just thought it was awkward and he didn't even get a convincing comeback
So this guy Rush is literally beating up someone set up for a title match and HE IS NOT AT FAULT AFTER 15 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE😂?
You have to admit Rush is way cooler of a wrestler than jungle boy though. And his matches are usually very fun against guys who fight back.
Wow, it's amazing how people listen to this sort of discussion and walk away thinking that.
It is not his FAULT.
It is management's RESPONSIBILITY to prevent this sort of thing from happening, if they feel it's not best for business.

As long as Khan is the booker AEW won't recover bc Tony refuses to learn.
And he's not a strong boss. That's another issue. He should be the boss of the wrestlers and not trying to be their friend. But I guess that's the luxury of being a billionaire and a billionaire's son: you can just piss away money and don't have to care.

If it wasn't Rush, someone was going to do this to Jungle Boy at some point.
I was hoping Billy Gunn would be revealed as the agent
Rush always has good matches against people who aren't scared of giving back to him. That's how you actually have a match that feels intense with agency. Jungle Boy was expecting Rush to pause and wait to get hit, which is the modern indie style. Obviously just my mark interpretation. Though to be fair, Rush did no-sell some of Jungleboys offense. Which makes me think it was either planned to be this way, or he went in for himself.
Why would they plan for JB to look like a Bitch before his Championship title shot at the PPV? 😅 TK⛄️ story telling?🤣
Him giving Jungle Boy an cup check should’ve been the moment you knew Rush was taking advantage of Jungle Boy

Well maybe Tony Kahn should have nevered put Jungle Boy in a match with Rush ,Different styles mixing like oil and water
Plus, the booking made ZERO sense. It was TK⛄️ playing w/ his action figures again. There was no reason for this match. 😅
Cornette wasn't wrong same time konan broke it down with all respect and I love it
Lol they admit they didn't listen the entire clip, thus missing Cornette's actual point.
Rush and PAC having similar approaches might yield a good match down the road.
I'm a fan of RUSH he truly comes off as authentic. That being said that was the wrong call putting him in the spot to lose to a talent like Jungle Boy. RUSH took look at him and was like fuck this! He goin learn today! Nobody can protect you better than you.
There's no psychology in mexico, it's just cooperation gymnastics
if konnan listened to the whole clip, not that he has to, he would've heard jim bury everyone for the post match beatdown of jb, and shutting down darby who came in for the save. it was a cold match with a post-match beatdown and a thwarted save.
corny buried the promotion more than rush himself for signing off on that sort of thing on a ppv go home show where 2 of the guys who're in the title match got made to look like shit.
@@billythekid22220 it was that long for a reason, none of them listened to it, knowing they were going to the question on the show. if they had listened to it it would've been cherry picked to death, which is also fine, but at least it won't be blind defense/vilification.
Jim’s main problem is rush no sold half of jungle boys offense and jungle boy is in the main event of a ppv
Jungle boy needed some humble pie ,
Really interesting conversation, but Jim was right. Konnans context on Mexico is cool, but this match was in the US. Rush hasn't been booked as anything and Bungle Joy was due to be in the 4 way. Cornette even said they could have used this to pull him out of the 4 way and Rush could use it as a way in.
Rush can be a top heal, he is a very good wrestler having said that he did fuck up jungle boy unnecessarily.
If Jungle Boy is too green: Why is he in a 4 way for the big title then? Am I missing something?
Because Tony named him a "Pillar" when no one knew who he was.
Which if you think that then guess how guys like RUSH think. He went out and showed it.
AEW is booked and run by a doofus mark. Him being Green doesn't matter because they branded him a pillar just for being there at the start despite the fact he's done nothing to merit being in a world title match. Tony Khan does not know how to properly book pro wrestling.
@@zeromagnum2811 he is a pillar solely due to who his father was.

No DI. His issue was not Perry gettin his ass whooped. Any other day, he would welcome it. His issue is that Rush ruined JB credibility and made him look weak ahead of the PPV Title Match. For absolutely no reason at all. Put him self over for absolutely nothing
That's only half true, JC was upset mostly because rush took liberties with JB and he couldn't believe it was allowed to happen.

i’m a bit shocked that legit names see so much in Jungle Boy (He should’ve never been put on live tv) he looks like a typical indie guy! a huge reason he’s been pushed is nepotism (he’s also a narcissist that plays up being uncomfortable in public) If he’s such a basket case why break into a business where you have to intact with the public/fans (Doesn’t make much sense) Strange that he gets away with so much diva behavior and nobody calls him on it
Yeah you heard about his behavior in the Q&A
Disco's point makes sense, but it doesn't negate Corny's.

Ok so NOBODY IN THE BACK couldn't have told the ref to relay the message to jungle boy to fight back???? They just let it happen
Plus it was right before jungle boy is in the headlining match at double or nothing, it made him look awful being completely destroyed before a ppv

Eh, Rush exposed how weak Jungle Boy is. Maybe he did us all a favor (if TK realizes it also).
Hey, where TF are the forks😂😂
I truely believe it can be fixed with more ring work together, RUSH just 😂 funny enough dial it back a tiny bit and Jungle Boy Jack Perry needs to give more emotional effort.
That's not really the issue. Based on recent comments he made when in the UK Jungle boy doesn't have the passion to be a wrestler. He basically said don't do it in a question about being a wrestler. That is why he comes off like he does. He is there and has a attitude of not wanting to be there based on those comments. Its AEW's fault this happened for even putting a guy as green and lame as him in a world title program to begin with.
@@zeromagnum2811 yes that's what they said in the video thanks for the recap lmaoo 🤣
That's why Jungle Boy has no business being in a title match! And after this match it was even obvious to all the uneducated fans who thought he was great lol!
RUSH is the man.
Rush also did some no selling though. Especially from the corner clothesline. And that has nothing to do with bringing it.
It reminded me of the Cena JBL match.. If you gonna book a guy like he's fighting from underneath. You got to book him wit somebody like rush to make it look like it and be safe about it. Did The boy get hurt? No. No issue. You're the under under dog. you never gonna look great and be believable. Rush make it look like he can take a beating, He did his job.
is Tony Khan going to act like a boss and fire Rush? No.
It wasn't just Rush's offense, though. He was no selling EVERYTHING Jungle Boy did. It was unprofessional.
Jim is right can’t just be stiff with a guy in the ring and not let him know.
I loved it. Someone needed to shit all over this terrible booking
I agree with Disco 100%
Jungle Boy is not a top guy and doesn't even look like one. Rush looks like a million dollars, wrestles very well and is more believable as a top guy. AEW paying him to flounder there.
if the rush and other men are like this, THE WOMEN ARE VERY MUCH IN THE SAME WAY!
This show constantly has to talk about Jim to get views. How the mighty have fallen.
It was a question by a listener, 🤡. Thanks for adding to the views.😅
I love the assessment! Jim can get a little ya know…. But, everyone is used to him by now and yea, he is super critical-but entertaining AF!
I been saying this. I remember in wcw they always explained the match will be under Mexican rules and explained the rules every match they had
Ahh yeah but the problem is that they didn't wrestle in Mexico. They worked in America, where it's more etiquette based.
Jungle boy isnt very good.
Tbh I don’t blame Rush for beating Jungle Boy ass he really had to put that Joke of a talent over I beat his ass to and make myself look good
I agree with everything you all said I'll just add, what terrible terrible booking.
Pretty Jim posted an update blaming jungle boy and taking heat off Rush after reevaluated it
The entire 16 minutes of Cornette's review is a must listen for anyone interested in psychology and booking.
I have a feeling Rush did this to Jungle Boy for his comments about not taking advice from unsuccessful veterans.
The best part of that match was the overhead belly to belly & Jack Perry almost broke his neck. The 2nd best part is how Jungle Boy won with a small package, after taking that much of an ass whooping.
Both perspectives were interesting and thought provoking. Love the show better than the wrestling you cover.

Well thats what jim said, "He did everything except piss in his mouth", which I dont think you're supposed to do to a world championship contender.

I believe Jungle Boy was being punished for the way he was acting in England.
