The listener in this really doesn't handle pain all that well. Once upon a time there was a frying in an oven at roughly 400 degrees. Me being an idiot grabbed the handle without an oven mitt, I ran my hand through cold water and then in a second example of stupidity I put an oven mitt on the burned hand and then I grabbed it with the unburned, mittless hand. Burned both of my hands because I was stupid but not once did I have a reaction as severe as the person in this story has.
