More than a decade after Volgarr the Viking’s chaotic, challenging debut, the barbarian king’s story continues in an uncompromising new form.
Volgarr the Viking 2 is a hardcore, 2D action-platformer where precision is everything and one false move can spell a brutal death. Players of the original game will feel right at home on this relentless voyage, even with the addition of new power-ups, new forms of magic, new enemy types, and a chest-thumping new soundtrack.
While the sequel delivers the same unforgiving 1980s-arcade level of difficulty as the original, Volgarr the Viking 2 also (mercifully, begrudgingly) offers modern quality-of-life options such as checkpoints, save states, and an undead mode. Volgarr the Viking is my favorite Indie game of all time, and one of the few games that I speedrun, so this is incredible news. I'm SO excited!!!

I never thought a 10 year old indie game that broke my fingers on my computer would finally get a sequel. Im definitely getting this cruel installment to a sadistically hard game, which i still haven't beaten. 🗡🛡

Hope we can have a hard mode that's only unlockable whithout dying and all these features disabled. (Like there was in the first one.
Having the pleasure of meeting 2/3 of the team from the original, this is hands down the biggest lowkey announcement of the weekend. Go play the original.
i never managed to finish the first game, if i remember right there were no checkpoint between levels or something, or i just played the first level so much to finish it that i got burned out on the next one, i might give it another go.

I'm really sick of devs who artificially stretch their games by let us doing the same stages we already memorised for all eternity over and over again to reach new sections.

Well that seems extreme and artifical but I hope if there is any overt player tampering trivial mode, they will lock the valkyire path away from it, otherwise it can never feel like an arcade /arcade port experience.

Please allow an easy mode for the sake of accessibility otherwise it's a no buy
They included a baby mode for you, look at the website.
Hopefully not, the lack of any player tampering is what made the first game so unique
@@Ageleszly There's nothing unique about it. If it's optional what's the problem? it's not affecting you why not let as many people enjoy the game as possible? Some people can't use a joystick or a keyboard remember that.
@@cimerians Of course it's unique when a game makes you work for the ending, makes it more alluring retrying again and again. That's human psychology, the only way or the highway, letting fall any path of least resistance, anyone who doesn't understand this, didn't understand what made Volgarr so special, you're were not the target group and that's ok.
