I have a new respect for your video series of this. I bought the game and playing in survival takes a LONG time to build anything. I can't imagine the hours you have into making this series.

I only discovered you there a few days ago by accident ....but I've binged your whole ylands let's play and I love it ! Your commentary is amazing and I love when you put emphasis on the k in words when it's supposed to be silent 😆 I don't know if I enjoy your accent or your attitude more 😁 I slapped that sub button so hard my nuggets nearly came off 😂
Two ideas you might like, Keralis: 1. Little forts or towers at the mouth of your cove. Great place to put your cannons. 2. A Collosus of Rhodes! A giant statue spanning the mouth of the cove! You could sail your ships in between its legs! And while you are constructing it (which would take a looooooong time, I'm sure) you could make bamboo/stick scaffolding. Even a partially constructed Collosus would look incredible!
On the docks area, why not place a fish selling shop? Just a little one with a counter and a bit of storage is all it needs. You could store your fishing rod there along with any fish you catch. Also, you don't have to make every roof symmetrical. Asymmetrical roofs work amazingly well. Perhaps you could try an asymmetrical roof on a storage building near the boathouse? (Try angling the roof so the higher part is facing away from the ocean. That way, you wouldn't hit your head if you had an elevated path on the inland side of the building.)
The next best thing when you can't afford games? Watching Keralis play games & making epic things. I genuinely think I have more fun watching the things you create than I've ever had fun playing a game myself.
Fantastic episode. I'll bet the devs never imagined someone building a beautiful, functional boathouse. Oh, and on Beef's Yland, he found a house that used those double gates as window shutters. It looked pretty spiffy.
I would love to see Keralis build something like a "spire" or wizards tower up on the ridge of the mountain so he can see the entire landscape around him.
You should dig out a big cave / harbour for the big ship in the steep cliff oppersit the boat house , it will take a bit of time but would look amazing !

Hey Keralis, Love the Series! you come with the greatest ideas. Just throwing thoughts here but what about building a Shark Tank close to your new boat houses? Maybe even build a glass bottom boat house to view the captured sharks with? Or build a Giant moat to protect your houses' with? please keep this series going its a joy to watch
I think it would look really nice if you made a little market on the stone platform there by the water, with market stalls and barrels and stuff like that
You should make a little utility closet thing in the boat house. In real life a boat house like that would have a closet with stuff like ropes, spare buoys, and trickle chargers for the boats. Also maybe a little railing/lip so you wouldn't fall into the water and maybe a couple chairs and a small table so you can look out over the water and your boats while you drink your morning coffee?
Your dock area Looks really awesome! Very nice progress of your base!On top of my ship I built more decks for storage and crafting. Maybe you upgrade your ship as well.
Hey here's a suggestion try making a small four or five stall market instead of the cannons, and a cheep T shape pier with some barrels, but I would like to see a light house made of stone. And your doing a fine job. I got I yesterday and getting the materials is a pain, so keep it up.
When Keralis says its the end of the episode but you know full well there's at least another 3 mins of footage coming because he can't walk away from a build xD
Keralis your ylands is amazing! I think when people exit the dock you should add a little cover so when it rains it doesn't fall on you. I believe you should add little shops on the pier area and a little outside eatery.
The base looks good, but you should have double stacked doors because it looks weird right now with so small ones hanging in the air. Looks like a entry to a western saloon..
Keralis, dont forget F1 (actually forgot what key it is now) if you need to know some general info. After work i have only stopped playing YLANDS to eat... Wonder if the fridge and some portable stove is easier then moving into the kitchen with the computer. Hmm...
What about your bathroom breaks? Guess you need a bucket lol :P I know what you mean though. I was playing for hours and seeming to get nowhere compared to keralis and his amazing cabin & buildings. (How do you make it look so easy?? @keralis). I'm grinding forevvveeerrrr for wood, but I still have things not unlocked yet for building like the 4 square wooden platform pieces. my roof was hay peices until I realized how horribly hard to find those are!! Then some wood logs but that's expensive & boring for a roof. I am spending alot of time soaking wet in my rainforest biome hahaha. Not having so many things unlocked, and no kiln yet, that is really hurting me. No clay found yet on my starting island :(

I came for CS and Gold Rush, but I think Ylands is probably my favourite series on your channel. I even bought it but I refunded it so quickly it’s not even funny. It’s one game I genuinely prefer to watch than play haha.

Hung Daddy true. But here in my country you can get the most expensive plan for your net and they may say it has fast speeds but ive yet to see one that truly and consistenly delivers. Im not techie but there seems to be certain times of day when the internet is slowest and fastest.
Hung Daddy, that's just party true - the village I'm living it had a max. of 6000kbits (~650kbps down and 100 up) and it wouldn't matter how much you pay you couldn't get more. So it also depends on the Country/County you're in and the infrastructure. They've upgraded last year to 50k tho :)
Kerails here's a good Caribbean saying "every spoil is a style" and I think it have 2 ship design a large one and a ship and you are killing those building ideas/design

I would transform the middle boathouse into a storage building or something like that. Make the middle roof flat, remove the boat doors and close up the front.

For the boat house you could just get rid of the overhangs, that way they're all even. Also you could go in to creative mode just for getting rid of stone blocks or major tweaks.
msfeistybabe to tell you the truth I'm not sure. I just remembered seeing that there was a creative mode in the main menu from his first episode. I figured you could just switch. 😕
Ahhh yeah I played a little bit on creative. I'm playing survival and was hoping to create at least a starter cabin lol. Was trying to make it easier for the initial playthrough, wanted to rush getting a ship to start exploring & gathering & collecting seeds to bring it all back and make farms... basically wanting it creative without being IN creative mode hahahha. So I was hoping for an easy way to switch. Maybe in the future /crossing fingers :)

TheNerdTommy08 Hey, thanks for that info :) Appreciate it!! I've not had a cnance to do anything except play a bit today. I finally got some clay super late last night and excitedly made a kiln...then was so disappointed to find out that is NOT what you need to smelt ores hahaha. I had kiln stuck in my mind & forgot about the smelting furnace!! so I wasted hours of gameplay getting nowhere hehehe. So finally then I got the smelting furnace & the blacksmith (forge I think it's called) & Iron armor woo hoo...& nails!!! I was like, YES I can start on a ship!!!! Hours of play later.... plenty of nails. But, still a long way off. I FINALLY realized I needed an iron saw made, and I was fighting forever making random items to get PLANKS opened up. I'm still a long way off hahahha. Need to grind a lot of forest killing for planks & logs... Oh yeah, don't forget the hours of grinding enough cotton to get all that cloth...especially if you make the mistake of thinking...I think I have enough, make it all into yarn...NOT keeping a lot more for seeds...sigh, hours more yland roaming for more cotton lol. I think they want us all out on the seas with sharks biting our butts for our first weeks of gameplay!!! But I'm having a blast :)
