With all the highs and lows and how I try to maintain balance whilst at medical school? I had such an exciting week planned, despite lockdown, so I thought why not bring you all along on my week at medical school...
For those of you who don't know I am a first year medical school student at the University of Birmingham, starting at one of the WEIRDEST times ever! This university weekly vlog has everything from finding my 2nd YEAR HOME, trips onto campus and games of twister! Going to medical school during Covid is definitely not the easiest, however I am determined to still make the most out of my 1st year of medical school uk! I really hope you enjoy my typical week at medical school vlog and seeing what life is like for me as a student during lockdown. I don't think a week at medical school is ever the same, but this has been one of my faviroute weeks during lockdown with so many exciting things planned. For anatomy I was using flash cards from Netter or Sobota. It really made me go thorough whole block and pass all my exams really easily 😌

My tips for anatomy are drawing out a certain structure e.g. A sagittal section of the skull, trying to learn a set number of words (like 5-10 at first then increase as you improve), using memory techniques such as splitting words into syllables and associating then with things, the weirder the better, and then labeling the drawing from memory, hard at first, but it sticks

Anki image occlusion cards. It has made anatomy so much more bearable. You can make regular cards with anatomy info too. It's really helpful

I loved watching this ☺️☺️ Anatomy was the bane of my life!! I used netters flashcards and went through them with a friend. We would go through the card and alternate naming the different structures. It ended up being quite funny and memorable cause neither of knew how to pronounce so many words so we would just come up with weird ways of saying things 😂 Yeah that’s what got me through anatomy, hope it helps ☺️

my biggest anatomy tip is to get those clear page covers & a dry erase marker, slip your diagram in there (or slip it in and trace with a sharpie so it sticks) then you can add little labels with your dry erase & quiz yourself!

Hey, I would say don’t worry to much about the street there all pretty much the same. A lot of houses have gone so just get whatever is near and nice and still available!

Hey I just have one question how comes the whole country is on lockdown but the campus and libraries are still open? Here in Greece even before the lockdown libraries were closed for studying because it's a possible crowding place (we could only lend books)! :O

For my anatomy I used gray's flashcards and also TEACH ME ANATOMY!!! Most of what you need to know if on there. Also do you have any of the older years' notes? x
