- In this episode, we go on a bit of a tour of some of the classics at Wharncliffe. This area used to be a bit of a backwater when it came to bouldering, but in recent years, there has been a substantial amount of development and now it has one of the best bouldering circuits in the UK.

The Pope is back!
Long live the Pope!
These videos are the best bouldering videos on the whole platform. Never change
Thanks so much!
I'm trying really, really hard to get to the point of climbing V2 or V3. Doesn't sound much, but I'm coming up to 58, and struggling with weight. I used to climb British 6a/b, so there's a little technique in there somewhere, but very little upper body strength.
Last year I got to the point of attempting a couple of V3s, but then had a bit of a setback.
These videos are what inspire me to keep plugging away.
just fingerboard and be really really careful with it. tendon strength can be developed easier than muscular strength at that age. just do a little everyday
Thanks Phil, it really means a lot to get comments like this. I'm glad the vids help keep you psyched! Keep at it and I'm sure you'll overcome any setbacks 💪
Fingerboard for finger strength. It’s not as dangerous as has been suggested because you don’t shock load fingers like in campussing. You just lift your feet.
And pull-ups leading to weighted pull ups.
I’m 62 and been doing v5s indoors. On routes, my last was a 7b+ sport route in the Toulourenc gorge.
You can get back in your 60s.
Lovely nature and beautiful climbs. Looks like a great place to visit for sure! 😊
Glad you liked it 😁
Mr Pope with the biblical sends
Love this chilled out style of boulder film
Thanks!
Definitely the worst winter we've ever had.
Epic sends here, thanks for the stoke!
Glad you liked it!
I live in the south east of Germany and I feel this so much. Our winter has been so wet you couldn't climb anything. Even the big overhangs were seeping so much...
Lovely chilled vibe, need to explore that crag more, plenty of quality for sure! Guess when I'm back....
Great video, very inspiring! You guys are awesome, salute from Holland 😊
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it 😁

Amazing video! I’m very lucky to live a 5 minute drive from Wharncliffe. In fact I could even walk there in about 30 minutes from my house! Has been my local ever since I started climbing and I love it!
Thanks Harry!

This has been the worst bouldering season I've ever seen in my country as well. Beautiful boulders!

Thanks! Hopefully you get out soon 💪
What a great vid, thanks!
You're welcome, glad you liked it!
Wharncliffe renaissance; Fulwood never stops does he. Some class looking stuff, I'll have to nip over the border for a look.
Definitely worth a visit 👌
We'll fight you at the border, bring back the 80s 😂
Love your vidoes man. So good!
Thanks so much!
Amusingly, the richest bouldering potential is often in popular bouldering areas. Just needs a bit of scrubbing and looking round corners. Maybe change the name of very active badgers as some locals like to fight dogs against them.
How is this channels videography so dam good! The picture clarity and colors are always stunning! What camera do you guys use?
Thanks! I use a Sony A7Siii 👍
MOM WAKE UP WEDGE POSTED!!

Everybody knows "bouldering paradise" is the Wedge Climbing YT channel!
😅 much appreciated 🙏
Beautiful video as always ❤ thank you again for this.
Personally i love climbing in all difficulties and find that often climbs i can do with relative ease are a lot more enjoyable. Hence, i typically want to climb them many times, playing around with betas and holds. More often climbs i first thought were avarege turn into wonderful climbs. A lot of more popular areas are popular for a reason be that easy access or beginner friendliness but also get a reputation of being quite poor, avarege or "nothing special".
Then there is also the fact that enjoying something is mostly about your own expectations. A beatiful scene, good company or atmosphere can make a avarege "rightleftrightlefttop" problem into a really goo experience which often effects the rating of a climb.
Also i feel like some climbers just enjoy climbing more and don't let smaller things effect their positive experience. I know a lot of people who would be turned off by a few nasty crimps even though everything else would be perfect on a climb and bash about it afterwards. Shame...
Thanks!
I agree, often there are a number of factors outside of the climb itself that effect how much you enjoy it 👌
Psychedd!
👍
Anyone have the name of the guitar piece at the end?
