being a history major is pretty much just writing facts...... QQ except when we have to venture out of the history building.... to fulfill our dreaded GEs. Nightmares.
I had that guy in my manga mania class.

Luckily in my class the teacher will only discuss specific exceptions when a student encounters one. This way the first 3 weeks weren't about avoiding breaking the program. Hooray!

The worst thing is when THAT guy is horrible at programming aswell. I had an issue where calling the destructor deleted my most recent made object and I asked out loud why it removes the last object in the array, I guessed he had a brainfart or something when the GUY replied to me, well it's because calling the destructor will delete the last made object. I was about to explode and just answered to him, Yes thank you that was exactly my question and turned to the teacher instead. In that moment the guy realised that he'd been an ass and said oh yeah I guess and then never spoke to me agian. It felt so good

Depending on the language any sorting algorithm should be able to sort a list of lists, the real question is though, how do you determine what the right order of the lists are?

    • @myrlhex1887
      @myrlhex1887 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

+Andreas Kristoffersen Late answer, but lexically. Compare the first element, if it's greater, then the list is greater than the other, if it's equal, check the second element with this algorithm, if it's less, then the list is less than the other.

+Gabe Z No, I was the kind of guy who either cared enough to already know what the answer was OR didn't care enough to ask the question.

I like history and had a professor who was saying that Churchill probably didn't want to fight the Soviets after WW2 and I was that one guy who was like "Well, actually, if you look at this one plan called 'Operation Unthinkable'..."
History is just facts, but it's a lot of facts with a lot of exceptions too... And then there's also additional facts that kind of are partially related which you can go on about like there's the fact that Hitler could've seen how Napoleon failed in conquering Russia and then you could also mention on top of that how Napoleon could've seen how Charles XII of Sweden failed in conquering Russia... There's also times where historical facts are disputed like did Alexander The Great plan his father's assassination or not and was Alexander The Great poisoned or did he just have too much to drink.

I totally am that guy! Oh my god, I'm so, so, sorry! xD
Especially in language classes. But really just like everywhere. I would not shut up, until I was satisfied with an accurate definition. (Even if I shut up, I'd keep going in my head. "That's not true. Mmm, that's a moot point. Well, that depends." And I'd mutter some of that under my breath unconsciously. I must have looked insane as a student!)

Not surprisingly though, that one guy becomes an amazing programmer since he questions everything. Can see every flaw in the code before it even compiles. Later in life you want to have that one guy on your team.

From my experience these kind of people are just trying to show off.
smart students can infer things by themselves because they have a good deep understanding.
Asking these kind of questions delays the smart students and just confuses the weaker students. Let the teacher continue dammit.

College exists for people to learn.
Maybe they're aware that there's a fellow classmate making snide comments about them and their learning style and they don't care because they'd rather be learning.
I can take a joke if this video is supposed to be one but I can't really separate the art from the artist here. Your comments sound very juvenile.

If you were _really_ interested in "how sorting in lists works" like you said, then all of these questions he's asking are incredibly relevant. Each one is pertaining to how the sort method works given the data type of its contents, which is a valid question, especially on the topic of sorting lists. Just saying.~ But why you felt the need to post a rant about a peer student asking relevant questions during lecture is absurd.
