if I had to play drums after that I would go to the microphone first and be like, "yeh, I'm really not a drummer but they asked me to do this thing so yeh... im really a producer...i been playin' keys a lot lately..."
CliffHuxtableSweater exactly!!! I'd be like "mann my drum tech mixed my stick bag up with another guy he tech'd for the previous week. All I have on me is mallets and brushes... Sorry Guys.. Anyways, this next tune is inspired by the Weather Report... *cues sound guy "Track 26"... 😂
What's sad about this generation is, they aren't musically literate enough to even understand what is happening right here, in this moment. The level of appreciation doesn't even come close to the level of skill. AMAZING anyway!!!
Not saying he couldn't just saying he wouldn't use his gospel chops on a rock gig. I play both in a rock band and also play gospel music and there is a different approach to both genres.
Man I have had the pleasure of doing 2 sessions live with the genius of a dude. NICK SMITH is monster and a half. I really don't know how he does it but MAN I'm glad I'm on his side.
Both amazing drummers as well! I really do think Nick Smith is underrated as hell. Pridgen even said in an interview that he digs Nick Smith's drumming
well it's just a different style of music. this style of drum fills wouldn't fit well in rock music. as far as rock drummers with musicality you should check out matt Cameron with soundgarden. he is one of my favorite rock drummers because of his ability to be musical and use dynamics in a rock setting.
Its not about who's better for Christ sake!!!!! Grow up! Making arguments about your personal opinions does not help. I see it as no drummer is better than the next. No two people can possibly play exactly the same which means everyone is different. How can you grow as a drummer by just thinking about being better than this person or that person?!? Just worry about how YOU can get better ... AMEN
I know that he is endorsed by Soultone and I also am aware that he's an shed artist and that Zion cymbals are apart of shed. All I told drumandball was that he was using Zion cymbals because they asked if he was using a Meinl Byzance ride. I'm aware of what you were trying to do which was help but I got it doc.
I just want understand how works his kik , because it impossible to know , he cant repeat any combination look as totally improve without rules ... What this guy study and how he have these ideas ????
I don't think its fair even possible to say that drummers at this level are better. I have only seen him play this style of drumming and he is amazing. royster jr though, can play virtually any style of music in any setting (jazz, rock, gospel, r&b, latin etc.) and play it extremely well. I you want to make the argument of better, I would definitely go with royster bcuz he is just as fast, but more well rounded musically. I am a fan of nick though and studying the mess out of him as of now

😂😂😂🗣️👌😁
LMBO!!!
Naw if u gotta be the next drummer after tht u just go to the mic n think everybody for coming out n walk off the stage.
this is single handedly the best drum performance I've ever seen and I've been playing for 10 plus years. Amazing man.
As usual Nick always kills it.
What's sad about this generation is, they aren't musically literate enough to even understand what is happening right here, in this moment. The level of appreciation doesn't even come close to the level of skill. AMAZING anyway!!!

Man I have had the pleasure of doing 2 sessions live with the genius of a dude. NICK SMITH is monster and a half. I really don't know how he does it but MAN I'm glad I'm on his side.
He's really good.
This might be the most impressive video I've ever seen. I plan on trying to learn as many licks from this as I can. Nick Smith is the king in my book!
Poppa Punker eric moore and my boy the king of cali Thomas pridgen
Both amazing drummers as well! I really do think Nick Smith is underrated as hell. Pridgen even said in an interview that he digs Nick Smith's drumming

the track is dumb
i am a die hard metal fan. i love hearing 250+ bpm double bass. but this man has got to be one of my favorite drummers.
Killin'...he's clearly gotten more musical since then.
Me and him are endorsed with Soultone but if you are,a,shed artist like me and him they procode, those with you
Holy Shit.
Zion Cymbals and Shed drums are two different companies. They are not together
Zion cymbals and Shed Drums are two different companies. they have no relation
That kit is not worthy of his playing.
Monster. He's far bigger than that band he's playing with. To my ears he should be working with the likes of Gentle Giant or John McLaughlin.
What is the backing track?
I think there's a bit of a renaissance in drumming as of late.
Its not about who's better for Christ sake!!!!! Grow up! Making arguments about your personal opinions does not help. I see it as no drummer is better than the next. wait..he is not using ear monitors but on point with the tempo???? GOAT LEVELS
I just want understand how works his kik , because it impossible to know , he cant repeat any combination look as totally improve without rules ... What this guy study and how he have these ideas ????
probably in creativity but not in share skill, technicality, speed and all that. I'll tell you what tho, this guy is a damn good drummer and musician.
I hoped they gave the drum kit a nice funeral...cause my man is a drum killa 4 real. The ppl in the crowd must be on that new low carb bath salts @_@.
I don't think its fair even possible to say that drummers at this level are better. Joe Hall this guy is better than tony royster Jr the only thing tony beats him with is popularity
Carter Beauford is dope.
Don't sleep on him...Carter played Jazz/Fusion before he joined/toured with Dave Matthews Band.
^^^^ I agree with him ^^^^ also he shouldn't be called "Lil Nick" anymore..his playin and SIZE has outgrown that name! Lol
As a drummer this video forever fucked me up. I don't know how! Nick is too raw!
Dave Weckl,Chris Dave,Vinnie Colaiuta,Dennis Chambers,Ronald Bruner,Calvin Rodgers just to name a few
Isn't that color evil/sinful?
...Purple that is?
He is a endorsed by soultone but he is also a shed artist and i believe zions are apart of Shed
That Flam @ 1:06 was sooo clean....
The track is craziness.. indeed!
Anyone know where i can get a copy of this track?
You can purchase this track on iTunes.

I wish Rock Drummers could play with such musicality...but, alas...they Cannot.
I thinks its called a SHED. Thats what the rest of the videos say he's playing.
