ALSO knew that stopping and then going in reverse is very smart when working on a cliff like this with such loose material. If you just go straight to reverse , let off the decel pedal and start backwards , you increase the probability of the material under your track letting loose , sliding downward and taking you with it. BEST case scenario if that happens is you stay on top of or behind the avalanche you just created , WORSE case, you go over the leading edge and or twist sideways = BAD DAY

as a a veteran dozer operator, skill has nothing to do with what happened in the video. Skill cannot predict slope failure. This guy was just lucky.
