One problem I have with Bradley as Javert (and a lot of the others in the 2019 Staged Concert) is the fact that they are shouting a lot of their lines. It's a musical, not a shouting match.
@@allthingsmovies10164 it definitely gets the emotions across though. A musical is a musical because characters start singing when they feel that it’s too much to speak their emotions. Javert is definitely feeling a lot in this part of the musical, and it definitely brings contrast to Stars and the rest of the songs in the musical, which is what makes it stand out. It’s definitely also a clear show of Javerts insantiy which is basically what leads him to kill himself. All he has ever known has basically gone out of the window
@@SlmTtrl01 So true. But I think that Javert's suicide can be done differently with less shouting and still work just as well. It really can be interpteted in many different ways. I've seen this recently in London with Stewart Clarke doing this and it is perfection. But Bradley and Michael on tour do it more shouty and aggressive. Maybe a decision by the creative team to make it more epic, but in the arena setting it really works and I think Bradley pulls this off beautifully. And what you don't see in this is the acting that goes along with it. You can see how manic he is as well as hear it.
@@hannahm756exactly. Saw him yesterday in Luxembourg and was totally amazed by his acting along with his beautiful singing. The madness was literally dripping from his pores and made me tear up.
