Nice work, those are some big logs. Picture yourself pulling a bell rope in a church. Step a little further back and let your forward hand slide back to meet the rear hand. Let the head of the maul carry the speed. That's where the power is. Double up on wedges if needed, and always start in a crack. Once you get strong enough, you can probably save the wedges for really tough logs and just use the splitting maul. Find a crack, hit it, then middle, close, far, over and over. But the swing is where the power comes from, not your arms. Picture your hands traveling in a tightening circle to your belt line with the head of the maul like a ball on a string. That's how I explained it to my son. Speed is power, and if you let the tool do it's job, you won't be as tired as quick. Good luck!
