Seems like cancelling the step one won't allow you to make the character forget step 2 next time is applied (possibly a skill tree ability that can possibly be activated with directional shift, heavily baseless theory on this regard). 1:14 Skill This skill seems to be activated from the subpalette by the click sound it plays at start (there has been no cases of developers applying Photon Arts to the sub palette). This skill seems to have gap closing capabilities and performs heavy damage, and allegedly a big PP recovery, follows the philosophy of Range weapon skills like assault rifle, launcher and TMGs where they have a cooldown/charge based skill (Rifle Grenadier, Sticky Bomb and Hail of Bullets) that is often used for PP management, can't speculate much if it will be cooldown with focus on skills to shorten it like Rifle Grenadier or it will be chargable like Hail of Bullets or Pinion blade. 1:17 Gun made normal attacks into Gun mode sidestep counter into previous skill used. 1:22 Slayer Combat 1:24 Slayer Combat Finish This skill seems akin to Brave Combat from braver (can also be compared to Scion Time skills but that's a stretch), adds a ring around your character to indicate the activation and buff duration, color of the ring might be affected by weapon camo, might give a DPS related buff and has a finisher on activation, finisher seems to have frontal AoE properties. Inspired from Katana Brave Combat Finish. Might have bonuses for performing attacks in this mode. 1:33 Photon Blast Marked by the character shining and skill usage, seems to offer excellent tracking, it will home in like Katana Photon Blast start but adds that it's finisher is a homing attack that will chase down even a moving boss.

The final charge is very similar to Baran Style's WA from Luster and it'd be weird to have a *singular* PA not be tied to the stay/move arts gimmick. Speaking of Luster, a lot of this class seems to be inspired from it, which isn't too surprising when past weapons have had aspects taken from their respective Scions. Slayer Combat Finish is straightup Luster Time Finish but the final hit is animated differently. What you list as PA4 is, incidentally, Luster Rise and Luster Falling. This one I think is potentially PA4 too, but could also see them leave it as an action modifier, as there's a distinct lack of gun-mode PAs, even if the charge shot ends up being a PA and not a held normal attack or the WA.
Honestly Waker just feel so good to play since it got lotsa mechanic going on, so I'm very hyped about this one as well And considering this is YSOK's favorite weapon
Honestly looks like a good start to the class, hope that it gets the mobility of luster's Swift Slash (waker's linear drive is already halfway there), and eventually has the focus bar/gauge thing to do the whole enhanced PA combo into Swift Shot thing from fomel style luster. Hitting those combos felt like Bayonetta's Wicked Weaves, some of the punchiest and best feeling combat ever.
It's not Luster stop coping. Luster broke base and outshined everything, the only reason nobody made a big deal about it was because it was at the end of the 10 year cycle sega promised 6 years prior. Fomel style wasnt really a combo, it was button mashing while abusing incredibly generous built in s and giga lifesteal.

Judging by what you said you probably don't even know what an enhanced PA is, how to do an enhanced combo, nor know what swift shot is. Try reading the skill tree before acting like you know anything about the class. I swear 100% of the "luster is OP" and "its NOT anything like luster!!!" is contrarian nonsense.

But hey, to your credit it does appear like you atleast did play base. Still think it is disingenuous to demand the overloaded kit that was Luster. Like sure, fighter spamming crafted deadly circle did a lot of damage, but that was quite literally the only thing Fi could do. And it was probably the most uninspired garbage to grace pso2 next to, drumroll... the entire summoner class. Handing back all of Lusters mechanics ensures that 90% of the ship will shift from getting carried by katana and switching it out for a gunblade. Unless that "ultra evolution" update is designed to power creep everyone else along with it.
Kinda sad they didn't keep the elemental gimmicks from the Luster class like fommel bits or zandi wings and that ice/light element gimmick that I keep forgetting the name of.
Looks like a logical progression of the defense forces. A balanced amalgamation of all of the previous classes, into a more potent and deadly anti alien incursion operative.

I've garnered a little disappointment here and there from the Game currently. But I'm forgiving because the game just passed its first year. People forget game development takes time. Too many people ignore that base is 10 years old. It's going to be another 2 or 3 years before new genesis even reaches that level.
Any one else having trouble using Dread 4 augments? I tried to put them on my sword 4 times. 2 times at 80% and 2 times at 90% and failed all four times and almost wasted all my Dreads (40) I have been farming all week. Wondering if I am that unlucky or it's not just me.
Your just unlucky. Honestly people can fail when having 95% success rate multiple times. If i were you from my experience if i always just say "if it ain't 100% it ain't safe at all" sucks but what can you do.

I really hope the Weapon Action for this weapon is a Guard. The move at 0:56 and the one at 1:10 look like perfect replacements for Iris Gale. I mean speed wise, it looks slower than the Fighter/Braver I'm using, but some good Photon Arts and a Weapon Action that'd let me block damage when I can are always pluses. Especially when they also give me some crowd control options. I wonder if older weapons like the Crystia series will get Gunblades for Multiweapon options too. I haven't been able to afford a meaningful upgrade due to the corrupt player market pricing.
Really hope that this class also uses techs even if its technically (no pun intended) not luster. After all, if the idea is to be an upgraded version of the base pso2 class; I expect it to use all things the previous version used, but with a twist to it.
new genesis really is the guilty gear strive of pso2. yeah it technically looks the best, but it's combat is way dumbed down and is missing all the soul of the earlier games, its been replaced by something else.
Oh, please, every competitive FG lately, except for Tekken, is seeking ways to simplify/streamline the gameplay and combos. Guilty Gear Strive doesn't suffer for it, and it's still a good game with plenty of soul.

Strive is every bit as complex as Xrd (especially now) and is a really solid fighter. People act like accessibility is a bad thing. It isn't. Allowing as many people as possible to jump in and give it a shot is way better for the games health than being an overcomplicated mess that's off-putting for lots of people. You know how daunting base game is for like, most casual people? We don't need people deterred from PSO, we want more people playing and that means the game needs to be accessible whether y'all like it or not.

PSO NGS is underrated, I feel like it got a lot of smoke because of the bad launch, but now its a super fun game with a very good F2P model.
The game is honestly fun but the grind can be pretty boring due to how monotone it can get since the game want to cater hard on casual players
The combat is fun the grinding is just repetitive and I think they need some more intriguing content

Any one else having trouble using Dread 4 augments? I tried to put them on my sword 4 times. 2 times at 80% and 2 times at 90% and failed all four times and almost wasted all my Dreads (40) I have been farming all week. Wondering if I am that unlucky or it's not just me.
Your just unlucky. Honestly people can fail when having 95% success rate multiple times. If i were you from my experience if i always just say "if it ain't 100% it ain't safe at all" sucks but what can you do.
@@jesseochieng I feel it, I've never had luck with chance but that hurt lol Thought maybe they were acting a lil funny trying to get rid of some of these dreads since there is an influx. But, I deff told my self I will never use a dread 4 again unless its at 100% lol

I really hope the Weapon Action for this weapon is a Guard. The move at 0:56 and the one at 1:10 look like perfect replacements for Iris Gale. I mean speed wise, it looks slower than the Fighter/Braver I'm using, but some good Photon Arts and a Weapon Action that'd let me block damage when I can are always pluses. Especially when they also give me some crowd control options. I wonder if older weapons like the Crystia series will get Gunblades for Multiweapon options too.
I haven't been able to afford a meaningful upgrade due to the corrupt player market pricing.

Really hope that this class also uses techs even if its technically (no pun intended) not luster. After all, if the idea is to be an upgraded version of the base pso2 class; I expect it to use all things the previous version used, but with a twist to it.

new genesis really is the guilty gear strive of pso2. yeah it technically looks the best, but it's combat is way dumbed down and is missing all the soul of the earlier games, its been replaced by something else.
I honestly wish each map section had 2 or 3 dungeons, in the og style. Getting rid of their dungeon run style completely just doesn't feel the same.
funny u mention GG strive, because that just dropped on Game Pass not too long ago
Oh, please, every competitive FG lately, except for Tekken, is seeking ways to simplify/streamline the gameplay and combos. Guilty Gear Strive doesn't suffer for it, and it's still a good game with plenty of soul.
@@Toni-ic7ki People that say shit like that don't actually play fighting games, lol, and if they do they are pretty ignorant. Strive is every bit as complex as Xrd (especially now) and is a really solid fighter. People act like accessibility is a bad thing. It isn't. Allowing as many people as possible to jump in and give it a shot is way better for the games health than being an overcomplicated mess that's off-putting for lots of people. You know how daunting base game is for like, most casual people? We don't need people deterred from PSO, we want more people playing and that means the game needs to be accessible whether y'all like it or not.
There's plenty of "dumbed down" combat in PSO2 base. Do you really think everyone just uses Mkb Gunner+ET with a subpalette full of PAs?
