Keeping your stove pipe cleaned is VERY important. We learned the hard way our very first winter when all of a sudden, we had hot ashes raining down outside our window at about 2 AM (the wife was up at the time and ran in to get me). The whole chimney was burning inside and flames coming out the top. All we could do was watch and hope. It took a while, but the fire finally went out. That was a learning experience! We'd only been using it for 3 months, but a lot of the wood was NOT cured completely and we were also burning a lot of pine. The creosote buildup happened fast. We NOW clean the pipes about once every two months with a wife chimney brush and then use the anti-creosote chemicals to turn any creosote into a fine powdery flake. And we burn good seasoned wood. Don't learn like we did! And stay SAFE & WARM!
Holy crap that’s scary!!! Woody and Wade sleep up in the loft, and Willie and I sleep downstairs in a twin bed. We keep carbon monoxide detectors, smoke detectors, and small fire extinguishers on both levels of the cabin but if we were sleeping when something happened, I doubt we’d have time to react. This cleaning was overdue, but didn’t seem to kick up much. Hopefully that means we’re doing a decent job
@@alvalonlinethat’s right! Yeah I’m sure y’all get a lot more use from your stove than we do. I think cleaning it twice a season is probably good for us, but we really only need it running 12 hours a day. Is it your primary heat source?
It’s been a long year. Thank you for sticking with us through our largest, and longest project on the property to date! Your support has been a great motivator on this journey & we’re excited to bring this big endeavor to a close ❤
Watching from the great state of Kentucky . I live in the heart land. 4am here getting ready to go 🦌 hunting. Late muzzle loading comes in a the break of daylight. You all are doing a great job. Love Watching you all.
Hello neighbor we live over just north of Hardy Arkansas me my wife and family enjoy watching yalls new projects since yall have moved here to Arkansas our little boy is 3 1/2 he enjoys watching Wade with the trucks and playing in the mud puddles .stay warm its gonna be raining around 4am for all most all of Arkansas all day.
Good job! Love watching you make progress. Watching from central Alberta, Canada. Temp right now at 7pm is a balmy -4c (25f), which is pretty darn warm considering it's mid December.
That does seem fairly warm for so far north! It’s been getting to 28-34 F here overnight fairly regularly, but still warms up to 60ish by mid day. Thanks for being here with us, can’t believe we’ve been at this for over a year now!
Hang in there woody, framing sucks but it looks strong. Hope you're putting in cross bracing to strengthen the wall s. Love watching what you are up to.
Thanks man. Woodworking is mainly Megan’s thing, and she’s got her hands full with the kids, editing, and running our household while I do woodworking. Go figure! 😆
Great job on the room build Woody. I have to admit though that I LMAO when the frame fell apart as you were dragging it inside the container. I'm glad you got it done though. :)
You struggled a little but you achieved your aim great effort. I am watching from HULL in the UK and have followed from the start and enjoy your content.
Good job on the framing the power house room and it wont be long till you will be putting all the solar components in there and watching from West Virginia
I was a chimney sweep for years and let me give you a little advice. When sweeping your chimney always wear work gloves because the rods are fiberglass and will start to splinter. It will give you some nasty fiberglass slivers that only come out by slowly festering.
Hello there, thanks for joining us again this week ❤️ I hope you enjoyed this week’s video, it’s a bit longer than usual and we tried to keep it simple. Pretty honest look at our week around here!

Not sure if you are a combat vet but get a full male hormone panel including lipids, metabolic and thyroid. If you've had a tbi or saw combat good chance your T levels are low. Look up low T symptoms. Good luck, brother!
He was hanging out at grandma’s house with megan and the kids a couple of days this week while she did laundry and got caught back up on work. He’s loving the cold weather

Hi Julie! Thanks for stopping in this week ❤️

I would put more insulation between the studs. the more insulation you have the better off your going to be.
So, yeah, foil side out. 😅
