- During the week I decided to make a small Wildlife Pond on a budget using a little planting pot. I loved the effect in the garden so much I decided to take the plunge and make it bigger by purchasing a pre-formed pond liner, digging out the new shape and adding the plants and pebbles back in.
I also purchased a lovely Water Lily to try and keep the algae down in the water. I've chosen a lovely, shady spot for it so I hope you enjoy watching.

Hopefully it won't take long for the insects and wildlife to appear.
I hope this inspires you to make something similar in your garden, as it really was an easy job and only took a morning to create.
Looks great Tracey ❤
It's better now, I needed to fit a water lily in there, hopefully it will clear a bit in a few days. I've had great fun, digging and planting today ❤️❤️👍
It's ok to take the brick away as the lilly likes deep water
Ohhh great, this is all new to me. Thankyou xx
Brick has gone now, thanks for the info 👍👍👍👍😁
Your lily can go a little bit lower but not so low that the leaves are under the surface or it will drown.
Thankyou, I've taken the brick away now, the leaves are floating on the top, is that okay do you think, I've never had a lily before, it's new to me 😁👍
@@traceyrowlands1220 if the leaves are floating that’s ideal. The leaves look quite large for your size of pond. Is a small ‘pigmy’ variety ? That’s what I would buy for a small pond. You’ve done well and I hope the wildlife appreciate your efforts !
Wildlife ponds are new to me, I did ask in the shop what plant would be best to keep the water clear and this is one of the plants they suggested, I hope it will be okay in there 👍
