He is not the author of confusion. This is plain to see - the first Church established by God as you would know begun with Abraham proceeding to Moses and the Law until the coming of the Promise - the Lord Jesus Christ. As Saint Paul, the Apostle, teaches in Galatians (and his other Epistles), Christ on His Coming fulfilled the Law (i.e. ordinances, which Saint Paul says were a heavy burden) as these were replaced by Grace through faith in Christ. (The term or period of ordinances came to its end.) Since the Israelites did not accept Jesus as the Messiah, God placed them aside, destroyed the Temple and turned to the Gentiles. He converted and directed a Jew, Saint Paul, to preach the Gospel of Christ to the Gentiles. Amongst the Gentiles, Christ built His Church based on the new Law (Grace) which history and historians attest is the Roman Catholic Church - the longest reigning monarchy ever to exist on Earth, one proof it belongs to God. The Church's mission was and always has been to proclaim the Gospel of Christ, His teachings and administer the 7 Sacraments of Grace He instituted to the ends of the Earth, so those desiring eternal life with God may be given the means to reach this destination. Christ and His Holy Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary, have continued to appear and speak to pious Catholics in the Church (and nowhere else) down through the centuries. Christ's doctrine of Grace, understanding how it applies to grow in holiness, is found only in the teachings of the Catholic Church which is directed by Christ at all times (His Mystical Body). It's easy for men to take teachings from the Church established by Christ and create sects to suit their own preferences (which is pride and disobedience towards God). These in reality are counterfeits. Since God created man with free will, He allows men to use it to lead them to Him or away from Him. Lucifer lost God through pride. Adam and Eve lost God through disobedience and pride, though mercy and redemption were granted to Adam and Eve and the human race. The only religious establishment on Earth which God permits to carry the claim, "founded by Jesus Christ" is the Roman Catholic Church. No other 'religious' group can hold this claim. God created a visible Church to be seen by all men, not something invisible and vague, prey to men's imagination and fallen nature. To not place oneself in the Church established by Christ is folly, risking one's eternal destiny. The Catholic Church during this tumultuous era, is found in a Fraternity within the Church - the Society of St Pius X. (Christ currently is taking His Church through a major trial of faithfulness - "I am the true vine: and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit, He will take away: and every one that beareth fruit, He will purge it, that it may bring forth more fruit." (John 15)
