I went through the very same divorce footsteps Ben went through during the pandemic. Divorced and alone in a rented home. I bought a 50 yr old run down piano from Marketplace and learned to tune it and then play that broken piano in seclusion. Every night, 3 hrs, TH-cam how-to videos on an iPad. From Jan to July of 2020, I tried to cover my very favorite songs. Studied music theory, chord structure, patterns, then it happened, I could play without looking. Music saved my broken soul. I swore off any attempt to "get back out there" and reconnect with anyone dating-wise. The "never do that again" mentality struck my mindset and work was number 1. After 6 more months of playing, I started posting my journey more on instagram by playing and then doing something I never thought I'd do, singing. Starting studying harmonies on TH-cam, found that to be interesting and it helped me personal open back up. Music is unique in that it can actually move a human soul forward. Band of Horses music I loved 10 years ago and still do to this day. Ben's music is inclusive and inspiring. I'm glad we got him in this world.
I've been a fan of them for over 10years Ben has always just known how to put words to feelings you can't explain! Keep flying Ben! You're doing amazing
Kanye is humble? Wow. Your humility standard is low. But I’m with you on Ben B being a straight-up genius. Just razzing you brother Christian. Hope you’re well. Hey, are you digging “Warning Signs”? I love it and I think it’s in their top 10 ever. Curious what you think. Cheers man. 🕊
@@AndySalinger33 I said he ISNT like Kanye… jeez. Warning Signs is top 10 for sure, but my jam is Tragedy of the Commons at the moment. Sucker for the melancholy.
@@christianpinchbeck3518 I did completely misread your comment! Geez! Appreciate you not trashing me too bad. I gotcha. Tragedy of the Commons is my 2nd fave. Stay golden. There will be good days ahead still. 👊
I was raised at a young age on music. Our parents taught us to love a diversity of music. One day it may be Janis Joplin..next day it may be Frank Sinatra or Nina Simone...the traveling Wilburys...or blusegrass...rock...the roaring 20s. Music just speaks to the soul where sometimes words cannot. Hubby and I will be seeing these guys late August in Alabama...we can't wait 😍. Loved the interview ❤️ Great job!
Great interview! Loved the questions in having Ben reach to answer. It showed what an awesome guy he is. And to Birdsmell himself, I could literally write paragraphs on BoH's music and my love and need of and for it but I'd rather say, keep doing whatever you're doing! ps: love the tempo drop in Tradgedy of the Commons.

Seriously can not get enough of Ben Bridewell and BOH.
We don’t deserve this genius to be so candid, honest and humble. Love this guy!! Warning Signs is the dopest song I’ve heard since…
LOVE Warning Signs, maybe my favorite BOH song also, which is saying a lot!

This is almost a heartbreaking look into Bens mindset. He’s a flipping genius, and I am glad he isn’t a Kanye and fully humble. It’s beautiful, man.

@@christianpinchbeck3518 right you are! What a nice encounter, man. We’re all just hanging on.

Band of Horses is truly underrated! They've been around awhile and his voice is unreal!! Great interview. He's such a down to earth guy.
I only have my interviews to go by, but Ben is one of the most genuine and kind peolpe I've had the pleasure to talk to.

This guy is seriously amazing. Warning Signs is the best song I’ve heard in years. Can’t stop listening to it and almost crying every damn time lol
Fantastic interview Robin, also how refreshing that Ben Bridwell is so honest and respectful!!!
Thanks Gayle, I 100% agree, Ben is always so genuine and kind
Great interview… Just wondering though why no one ever asks Ben about the departure of Tyler Ramsey and Bill Reynolds?
One of my best friends looks like a clone of Ben… Love you Ben and BOH, been a fan for a long time and seen you twice but many more to come ❤
Excellent band
4:02 obviously the right decision because this new album is a masterpiece.
Hey Ben, you did a good job. Awaken goes so hard
