from all these interviews it's clear that between the 2 of them armie is the one who hesitates less before speaking and more filterless in a sense that he'll cuss in immediate response, which is smth i really like lol, it's kinda refreshing coz he's blunt at times but never rude and always giving thoughtful and considered answers. timmy on the other hand seems to spend a longer time processing how he'd want to convey his thoughts before speaking but even then there's never blank space with him coz he's already always analytical and expressive. i find this contrast between them interesting, partly because it's also kinda flipped between elio and oliver.

I‘m glad that some of my friends could relate to my feelings and helped me with talking about my thoughts. Exactly. The rumors about Armie and sexual abuse etc have been disproved. The police and district attorney both conducted separate investigations and found no evidence of abuse, rape, violence, cannibalism, or anything. The lawyer for the two women who made the accusations dropped their case after one of them admitted that she *agreed* to have sex with Armie several times, and the other one had been having an affair with him for nearly four years. The rumors and allegations were about revenge and trying to get him in trouble.

0:40 i think Elio was trying to find out his sexuality too or at least trying to learn he actually likes boys sexually and he was confused bc in the head ( i know from the book) he knew people would abondon him and he thought felt that way wrong for a while he was fighting his feelings and tried to deny that feelings. Ok he did not label himself gay or bisexual but still book and movie about sexuality too.
I wonder if Timmy had any difficulty decompressing from the film's place in his life and transitioning to just a friendship. Not that the film would change his sexuality, but there must be a part of a person that needs to submit in order to make it believable. Even without the sex or kissing. I'm talking about being physically close. I don't think this about Armie just because he has more acting experience that has cultivated a sense of professionalism and boundaries. Timmy is such a raw actor that I'm curious if he was challenged.
