This man is definitely a tool and die maker, my father also made beautiful pieces of jewelry for us and my Mom, he was also created our front door out of metalwork flowers everyone that sees it loves it, plus he was a painter, he was so multi-talented it was amazing! He created a huge swing set and slide for us outside...he did so.much for us...downstairs he made us an amazing playroom. We had a magical life thanks to my Dad and my Mom was the chef of the house. Dad was the creator and Mom was the nurturer. I would gladly live this life over with them again!.

I left the threads in mine so the ring will stay on my finger more securely. I twist the ring onto my finger and then torque it to 30 inch-pounds.

Great TH-cam illustration of how to turn a bolt into a lovely ring. If I start doing this sort of thing now, with little or no experience, and work at it every single day, by the time I'm approaching being a centenarian, I should be absolutely 'Ace' !!!

Currently working at my first attempt. I've never done handcrafted anything before, but I'm making a ring to propose to my woman with. If it comes from my own hands, my own heart, I know I'll eventually get it right and make my woman's engagement ring

Long term prisoners at a security prison near where I live make rings from brass nuts . Their workmanship varies but some are quite proffessionaly worked. I have found five of these over the years whilst metal detecting and was able to prevent a German visitor buying one when he was approached by a couple of ex cons and offered a " Gold Ring". He was impressed by the offered ring but declined when he was told it was made of brass. There were slight traces of the inner scew threads visible

For future reference, files only cut material on the push stroke. By going back and forth with equal pressure, you're only dulling your files. Only apply pressure on the push stroke, let up, then push and repeat. It will keep your files sharper in the long run and reduce scratches on the material caused by metal chips getting dragged across the face of your material on the pull stroke.

Yep that’s the way of steel! There is stuff you can do to help it not rust though ! There’s waxes and some polishes will help prevent rust, there’s also this stuff called penetrating oil that works really well for steel tools though I’m not sure how it well it would work for jewelry. I made some forged chasing tools and it put it on them after having them rust every time I set them down at night and came back to work the next day, and after that I didn’t have a single problem with them until they had to sit for a few months in a humid studio !

Awesome job, I've made some rings froms nuts and I know the pain of the process. I live the design. I might have to try it out. What is the stone you used?

1500 people voted against the video of a gifted person who simply shows us with his talent how he makes a unique piece of jewelry. Probably people embittered by their miserable and failed lives.
