Scavenger hunts themselves aren't inherently good or bad. It's the execution that matters. The Boo Bash one from earlier in the month was very well done, as it was insanely generous and could be done easily in roughly 40 minutes with the easily accessible Tornado. But this one wasn't executed all that well. The Hill Top and Green Reef quests should have been swapped. 75K small items are simply way too much for a tiny map like Green Reef and makes things insanely tedious. It would have made perfect sense for Hill Top because of its massive size.
Kind of a shame because the Hill Top and Snow Valley quests were executed fairly well here. The amount of objects you have to destroy is pretty reasonable for both and it gives you a sufficient, yet natural reason to go look around. Not very tedious and time-consuming. The Green Reef quest is the biggest chore we've had in the game in a while. It really drags the event down.
Still, very excited about the Werehog next week. If we do get an enemy spam event, I hope it's more like the Boo Bash event.

I could not have said it better myself, scavenger hunts are very much inline with how you get XP, so it’s not the WORST if it’s executed properly. The first 2 quests felt extremely refreshing to explore worlds that otherwise we never go to, I think that should be a method going forward! But yeah the 75k collect a thon in green reef was rough lol.
I played for like an hour and only got 30k
I remembered when this game first came out and they were talking about shadow coming out I stopped playing like a month after it came out and I just am coming back and looking at all the stuff it’s crazy how he’s still not in the game 😂😂

I bet Shadow will be teased in an A.R.C map where we find him sealed in a pod of sorts before being playable like the Sonic vs Shadow race in Sonic Generations and SA 2, we could even see him creating some hazards with Chaos Blast or some Chaos Spears.

My guess is shadow will come on New Year’s Day, a nice big treat to kick off the year with. If they are looking for something big to pay him off with then this will do it justice. Also New Year’s Eve is on a Saturday this year which is usually SSS update day so maybe we get shadow on New Year’s Eve and he will be dragged into 2023 to kick start the year with a bang!
