@davenix1955 no worries... hmm I am not sure... I dont have jcosta on my bike, in the video it's on my friend's burgman... I will ask him.. I don't think he open the CVT to check the pins yet... I will post video once he opens the CVT to look at pins.. maybe soon
yaaayy! :]
i never understood what that part exactely does..but it seems to star in a lot of videos of yours..
@oymeit um I will have my friend come in and answer that question.. I don't have j costa on my 07 model
Buongiorno, mi puoi mandare i link dove hai comprato il variatore e la frizione . Vorrei un tuo parere sul variatore per Suzuki Burgman 400. Grazie
@davenix1955 oh you mean the pins??
Are the rpm's lower at freeway speeds? Or about the same?
@davenix1955 sliders and jcosta don't work together... you can use jcosta or sliders in the variator
So it's just like Dr Pulley sliders with the stock variator? Seems to be the cheaper way to do the same thing, unless the jcosta does something else. I've put DrPulleys in my scoot and it works as advertised.
I didn't know there is other type of J. Costa? I thought only one type?
i have a 150 scooter but i'm sure all the tk variators are the same. i'm trying to figure out if this will be good for me as i ride it back and forth to work to save gas, but around here i still need the acceleration. did or do you get better fuel mileage with this variator installed, or was it the same or worse?
Thanks for all the great videos. I just got an 06, AN400. Where is a good place to get the JCosta and is it reliable long term. My 400 was purchased with 3,100 miles.
nope. After 10 000 to 15 000 is not more good variator. The bullets have worn the metal part and then the variator is not the same. I will stick to malossi.
@Oymeit I am the one that owns the scooter in the video. The jcosta variator will cause you to run higher rpms at lower speeds and the same rpms at high speed compared to stock. It will give you slightly faster acceleration at full throttle.
that's what my friend said.
Thats not good. Lol. U just reverse sold me. Lower rpms is better. So ur loosing mpg with this setup. Polini or malossi got this sale.
Hello, do you have any videos on carb removal/cleaning on the Burgman 400? My Burgman stopped from running. It was my daily ride. One morning i tried to start it. It started for a second and it died. Nothing since then. I sprayed an engine starter through the throttle body but it didn't do anything. Where and what should i be diagnosing?
Your videos are quite helpful. Thanks a lot!
Is this fitted in honda activa 125
@eladbari ha I was too before
@thepierced jason is jcosta rider but he's PC, I am apple and no jcosta rider haha :-D the guy in the video with jcosta and burgman is not me, I'm one that filming and on vespa
@oymeit
I am the one that owns the scooter in the video. The jcosta variator will cause you to run higher rpms at lower speeds and the same rpms at high speed compared to stock. It will give you slightly faster acceleration at full throttle. Do not buy this product if you want it to reduce your rpms at highway speeds.
J Costa variators and replacement weights are stocked by Scootertronics, I have taken the time to stock in the US the most sought after in the uS now I might not have them all but that does not mean I will not get what you need, I simply installed these J Costa variators in maxie scoots and others and was surprised at the performance I did this in 2006, so let me know I will hook you up
@webchez69 oh I dunno.. not mine... I have to ask my friend who own that burgman in the video, it's me who filmed the video and riding vespa - my 07 burgman 400 is at home sitting lonely! ha ha
Cool design... but do they engage smoother? Last longer than OEM?
@micbergsma This is my bike in the video. I have opened up the case to look at the pins and they do have a slight bit of wear on them. I expected that and I think it is normal. they should last a long time. It is too early to tell, but I think they will probably give me 20,000 miles or so before I will have to replace the pins. Next time I have it off I will get micbergsma to take a video to show the wear.
Which type of J. Costa variator did you install?
Mic, how can it make the 400 better?
Oymeit I am the one that owns the scooter in the video. The jcosta variator will cause you to run higher rpms at lower speeds and the same rpms at high speed compared to stock. It will give you slightly faster acceleration at full throttle.
IS the JCosta beter then Malossi?
Great variator made in Spain :)
Yes
I have an 09 abs AN 400 burger and I think you really cannot go past the 19g sliders in the variator..I fitted a new variator as the old one was too worn (38300kms) new belt and DrPulley sliders 19g..just gobsmacked by the usability of it ..can easily sitvon 150 km/h and turn out 6000 rpm..where prior with worn belt and shagged variator ..it was 100km/hr at 6300 rpm..highly recommend
Neale Frazer ah interesting... I have 23g sliders in my 07 burgman 400 for a long time, still doing good....it’s on my other channel @mitchsscooterstuff - I stopped posting scooter videos on this channel . If I change sliders again I would go down to 21g
oooouhhhh yessssssssssssssssssss! ;-]
Well, maybe for motorscooters but for 50cc scooters they selling 2 types.Sport and Race.The only different is the price and roller weights.I prefer Malossi is still the best tuning brand on the market.
@bangalorebobbel ha ha
