Date of the trip Sept 28th, 2024
I woke up early on this day, but couldn't fish until the afternoon due to work and home responsibilities. The conditions were flat calm all morning and through much of the afternoon. UNTIL I headed out. I entered the marsh and really thought I would get skunked until I ran into an area where the redfish had some bait corralled in a shallow dead end. I noticed some birds in the distance and polled my way into position where I found a pretty good sized school of slot redfish. I ended up with a 26, 22 and 21 inch redfish and took them to home feed the family. All fish were caught on a Down South Paddle Tail.
Birds in this video ….wood stork, tri-colored heron and the ever present laughing gull.

Classic example of schooling reds and watching birds. Afternoon bite was on.

Thanks for watching. I have caught a fair number of them in the past, but really none this year for some reason. I haven't spent much time working drains during tide changes. I generally concentrate on sight casting redfish when I'm back there. It's my favorite!

Yes it is and the Google maps hasn't been updated. I have hell figuring out where I am half the time. I was trying to see if that pass still went through and connected with other parts of the marsh. Nope! At least there were fish in there. 😁😁
