Its tragic that Packard went under. Poor Management cannot be overcome by dedicated workers. Few know John Z. DeLorean started his career at Packard. Their engineering and engine design were well ahead of their time. A few years ago I was shown some hydraulic valve lifters from a 1930s Packard engine. They were ROLLER lifters!! It would be over 50 years later before the other Detroit manufacturers utilized these on their factory engines-HALF a CENTURY!!!!

DeLorean milked investors in the UK . Expect e same here. Some times it is cheaper to tear down and start over

Humans are tearing part of it down. I would have loved to see where automation is in downing a building.

I wonder if he had stayed at Packard (maybe become a part owner) if he could have made Packard a force to reckon with. Few people know that his car was made in Northern Island.

The love for the automobile used to be done with craftmanship and hand skills. Today its only numbers built by robots without a soul.

My Dad worked there in the Print Shop in the 60’s for the Department of Defense. Attorney Elliot Hall was one of his co-workers.

They should ship all that water to Flint.
Detroit isn't coming back unless they decide to build batteries in those old buildings.

The Gm plant would keep a restaurant or two busy.

Nothing is going to happen there. Who would invest real money in building something in an area like that? The "locals" will just loot and burn the place within a matter of weeks if anything of any value is placed on that site.
Just tear it down and leave it as a field.

Think of how much you can milk from investors in the mean time

Here’s an idea. Convert the old school to the new school. Tesla takes over and brings in more jobs for the city.

Some one is going pay them selves $1,000,000 a year to milk investors.
