I bought one of these for my studio. I'm a drummer, but I wanted to have something available. I did play piano as a kid, and plan to try to relearn. I got it because of the RH3 key bed, which really is terrific. You can slide your fingers up on the keys toward the front facia and it doesn't feel stiff like most under $1K pianos. In my Sweetwater review, I called this the 'unicorn'. It is a pro stage piano at a consumer price. It gives up a lot of bells and whistles to play great and sound very good at pianos. I think the Kawai ES110 may sound a tad bit fuller on default piano, but the key bed isn't close. The D1 was a brave choice by Korg, and I hope they sell as many as they can make.
Special ordered a white one from Korg in Japan... Yes the RH3 key bed is nice... Yes it is a nice slimline stage piano, or 88 key midi controller... No pitch bend or mod though... I sometimes patch it into my Logic and play the Bösendorfer on it... On its own it has a nice Fender Rhodes sound... I call it my poor mans Fender Rhodes... Driving two nice full range German built speakers with a Pyle 2X15 watt amp... I also recommend the Korg DS-1H half damper pedal to go with it for that superb half dampened sound ... As well as the Korg ST-WL Wooden Stand... Very aesthetically pleasing to the eye with them on the white Korg-D1... What a great demo enjoyed watching you play... ☮🔥🎹
It can function as a basic controller (it has MIDI out) but it is missing some basic controller features such as pitch bend and mod wheels, no assignable sliders or knobs.
For live as stage piano, the Korg D1. Its the only serious tool. Its the only piano with a seperate jack connectionplate.(live your connections are quicker damaged) and , its has a volume button !

Really great playing. Passed my grade 8 classical piano but would like to play that kind of jazzy stuff you play. Where do I learn this style?

Both are really good,you have to try and decide which suits you better.

@@amaurythewarrior Understandably you get much more extra features with fp90.I have the D1 and it’s perfect for what I needed.
@@mrlazli i just ordered the D1. based on a lot reading but couldn't test. seems but the keybed is a pretty subjective thing in the end.
That piano sounds kind of like a Yamaha CFX Grand piano NGL.
