Dutch History: A New Bridge for Deventer (1948)

EN - The road bridge over the IJssel near Deventer was destroyed in the Second World War. After the war, a narrow ship bridge temporarily provided for the emergency. A new permanent cross-river connection has now been completed. The new bridge, named after Wilhelmina der Nederlanden, connects the provinces of Gelderland and Overijssel near Deventer. If you think the bridge looks familiar, you're right. She figures in the successful film "A Bridge Too Far" in which she portrays the Arnhem Rhine Bridge, which itself could not serve for the filming due to the nearby post-war buildings.
NL - De verkeersbrug over de IJssel bij Deventer werd in de Tweede Wereldoorlog vernield. Na de oorlog voorzag een smalle schipbrug tijdelijk in de nood. Nu is een nieuwe vaste oeververbinding gereedgekomen. De nieuwe brug, genoemd naar Wilhelmina der Nederlanden, verbindt de provincies Gelderland en Overijssel ter hoogte van Deventer. Als u denkt dat de brug er bekend uit ziet, dan klopt dat. Ze figureert in de succesfilm "A Bridge Too Far" waarin ze de Arnhemse Rijnbrug verbeeldt die zelf door de nabijgelegen naoorlogse bebouwing geen dienst kon doen voor de filmopnamen.

Close it was used for the movie a Bridge too far because the setting of the John Frost bridge was to modern (the old buildings were destroyed during Market Garden) this is actualy Deventer my home town.
