  • Spoiler alert - This tool moves a ton of air and I love it.
Does it match the power of my Husqy backpack blower? Not quite, but definitely a contender for the go-to cleanup tool.

I love Makita. I have like half dozen 18v tools and they all do a great job and last many years. All their products feel quality. The only complaint I have is some of them are really heavy like the bush trimmer, to where your arms hurt after using it for 20 minutes.

This and the 36v saws are the best intro into Makita based solely on the fact you start out with all those batteries. Good video. Think this made it on my want list.

No gas, no 2 cycle mix, no spark plug, no air filter, it's a no brainer. If you want a cordless tool platform, you can't go wrong with Makita stuff

This kit for $330 is the way to go. The blower, bare tool is $230, a 2 pack of 5.0 batteries is $200, X2 is $400, and the dual charger is $120. Adds up to $750............

Agreed - Just makes more sense if you’re buying into the system.

🤣 True facts... but they are coming out with a model that includes a leaf shredder 🤓

That definitely seems like a nice upgrade from the gas one. Should be better for the environment as well. Small gas engines seem to be pretty inefficient.

It’s definitely more convenient and something I can use in the shop without worrying about fumes.

Such a shame you don't see it blow a lot of leaves. Really poor camerawork. Greetings from The Netherlands

Thanks for the feedback. Thinking of doing a 1 year follow up focusing on leaves.

I only liked for the air guitar pun. Bout to buy this. Can't go wrong with four more batteries.

I got this blower a few months ago. Running at speed 6 it only lasts maybe 10 minutes and then they take at least 30 to charge. You’re going to need more than 4 batteries for continuous use. Probably 8 and two Chargers.

Good point to call out. I don’t think my testing ran it nonstop. Might need to get more scientific on this...

I TOTALLY AGREE i also have this blower and am totally disappointed ONLY in the run time IT makes a great experience go to a 1/10 experience.

When you run it on 6 setting for maybe 10 minutes it shuts itself off due to over heating protection. I even put two new fully charged batteries in and it still wouldn’t run. Manual says it needs to cool down. Really disappointed to say the least.

I have a huge amount of Makita tools I’m an HVAC contractor so I also have one truck set up with all Milwaukee another one set up with Dewalt. But what’s gonna be the differentiator is DeWalt came out with a power stack battery which is lithium pouch batteries in the little 1.3 lithium pouch batteries can outdo the 60 V batteries that I have for Dewalt Wednesday I’ll go to that it’s going to be a super game changer

4 batteries is an absolute bargain, we get right royally ripped off in the UK for power tools, even the tool boxes are beyond a joke for thin plastic

Will the batteries that come with this work on an 18 volt makita drill i bought about 6 years ago?

    • @UnacceptableViews
      @UnacceptableViews ปีที่แล้ว

if the drill has only 2 battery terminals and not 3 then it won't work without modification. you can file a small bit of plastic off the drill base to accept the new batteries if they won't fit but there will be no battery\tool communication meaning a layer of tool\battery protection won't be available. makita call it star protection as indicated by the star logo on the tool and battery. no star means no worky without modification
