@@JordanJapan People say this but never say anything about Rui and Bron playing together. From a role perspective, their poor defense can cause more issues than D’Lo and Reaves. Did we not see MPJ and AG crushing Rui and Bron last year? They have the slowest rotations on the team.
You are not winning with a backcourt of DLo when you got guards like Antman, Kyrie, Luka, etc cooking them in the playoffs. They need a 3 and D guard

He is an asset i agree. The only problem is we have nothing else to trade. This front office is ridiculous. They could of had Taurean Prince and Tyus Jones for vet minimums. And they got neither. That says a lot right there.
Think about all of the championship teams we had in recent years. There were usually two main stars, surrounded by 3 & D. We really need to focus on getting the Rick Fox/MWP/DFish/Ariza/KCP/Caruso/Danny Green-type players.

Brogdon is a better consistent defender and bigger expiring contract. If it only takes a second get it done for Dlo and Vando or Vincent. You can still shop Brogdons contract if he doesn't work out.

I would love the Lakers to get Malcolm Brogdon, but his injury history is the only thing in question. Since he’s been back this year, he’s been pretty solid on offense.
I love brosgon and Vonas For Gabe and DLo because DLo is leaving regardless after this season you got to trade him. You get a backup PG and vet in brosgon and a backup big in Vonas.

That's what most people can't seem to understand. He does have a fairly high floor, but yes, to be a legitimate contender, he can't be consistently relied upon. But it's becoming more and more apparent that there's not enough picks to become contenders unless miracles like Vando and Wood coming back and they play their best ball.

I wouldn't want any of the Wizards players. The only player of the 3 mentioned who actually fits a need is Brogdon because he's a 3 & D guard, and trading with Washington basically tells me that the Lakers front office is only pretending to do something to avoid giving up any first round picks, which is unacceptable. I'd much rather trade with Brooklyn. At this point Rui is better than Kuzma and Jonas is so bad defensively he would never get to play. So what's the point of trading for Jonas or Kuzma? That sounds like a cop out move for not using those damn picks. We have 2 firsts and 3 pick swaps to use. I'd rather wait til the deadline and see who else becomes available than do a trade with Washington.

Definitely believe there’s more to this trade; the only thing I think would make any kind of sense is if we got both Kuzma and Jonas. This leaves me to believe it’s D’Lo, Vando, and JHS being traded. Which honestly if the Lakers got both Kuzma and Jonas in that trade and opened up a roster spot I’m all for it. Some would argue that’s a bad trade but slide Reaves to PG or LeBron or even Bron back to SF. Then we have a lineup of Austin, Kuzma, LeBron, AD, and Jonas.
Trade Dlo Asap to another better guard like schroder. Dlo is inconsistent and no defense at all.
What about getting Kispert or Champagnie instead of Brogdon or Kuzma? Perhaps those are better fits for the Lakers for what we need, not sure if the money works but I think those 2 are pretty solid shooters

We should trade other pieces before thinking on D’Lo. D’Lo is a point guard, playmaker and good passer. He’s not making all the shots but his shooting reputation still creates spacing and at any moment his shooting will show up. But if we need to trade D’Lo we need a point guard and another shooter. I don’t know.

Dlo has no consistency and it’s underrated how terrible he is on defense.
The Lakers best option is Tacko Falls who is playing in Europe. He has youth and size on his side. Big enough that you don't have to double and defend the three. This will move AD to power forward where he becomes the best player in the league. Rui is not a physical or aggressive enough on both ends of court, his defense rotation is worst on team. But just adding Tacko Falls could make the Lakers a contender but unleashing AD

JV/Kuzma doesn't solve our perimeter defense problems. Brogdan is a noted defender but is very injury-prone. I am not hearing much about getting defensive perimeter players in these trade proposals. There are young defensive players out there that we should be proactive about getting. Johnny Davis on Washington is one example. Julian Phillips and Dalen Terry from Chicago are two others. Wendall Moore from Detroit is another. The Lakers need to look into finding diamond in the rough 3 and D players like back when they traded for Ariza.
